Doesn't really work. What a mistake. With the one from Wintric I just hold it near a hot outlet it beeps and lights up red. This one does nothing. I think I got it to beep once by inserting it into the socket and wiggle it around. I should have just purchased another Wintric one.

It works,but sucks it'll be nice not to have to put it in an outlet to find out if it's is on or not...

It does detect voltage at outlets, but does not detect the voltage level. I had an outlet that should have been at 120vac, but was actually at 60vac. The probe just indicated voltage was present, which I suppose is what its supposed to do. I was just disappointed when I thought the circuit was okay, but did not find out the truth until I pulled out the voltmeter.
