This fan's holes for the mounting screws are too big for an HP ENVY dv7-7000 series laptop. I put plastic epoxy in the holes, waited for it to cure then drilled holes with a wire bit. Also took 8 days for it to arrive. I already had to replace the fan once. The fan lasted only 9 months so here I am again. This component is buried deep in the PC. A huge pain to replace it. The least they could do is make the mounting holes the right size. All that said, it is working correctly for now. Time will tell on it's longevity.UPDATE: The fan is in the beginning stages of failure and making a lot of noise. It has lasted about 2 years and 3 months. So, I will be replacing it once again. I am attempting to find another brand that has the correct size mounting screw holes.

I purchased this a while ago and just now needed a replacement.pro's:Apart from taking the laptop apart it is very easy to install.Whisper quiet at slow speeds.Lasted longer than OEM.Keeps the cpu and gpu under 50c under heavy loads.Continued cooling 5 years of near non-stop use!continued to cool with low speed after a failure of some windings.Cons:Can get noisy in cold conditions same with OEM, sounds like it's out of balance.At high speeds can become a bit louder than I'd like, Audible on recording.Overall I am purchasing another today this fan has far out run my OEM fan and another brand replacement fan. Even after failing the fan kept going to keep the cpu from dying I am more than impressed with this fan and it's abilities.

I bought this to replace the fan on my dv7-7000 laptop. This is the second time I've replaced the fan on this laptop. The last fan lasted about 3 years (with light use). I'm hoping that this one will last longer.The replacement was made easy by following a guide on Youtube.I strongly recommend buying some arctic silver thermal compound since you have to break the connections on the heat sink to the CPU and GPU (if you have a GPU) to change out the fan. In other words, when you replace this fan you should also clean up the old thermal compound and put on new thermal compound so that the heat exchange remains good. Otherwise you might have bad heat exchange causing overheating and leading to excessive fan RPM.-1 star: Like another review stated, this is not a SUNON fan as shown in the picture. The fan I just replaced was SUNON and it didn't last a terribly long time (bad bearing I think). So I'm definitely not endorsing SUNON, just pointing out the incorrect image. I don't have a fan preference, but I dislike misleading advertising.

I bought this fan 7/24/2017 as a much-needed replacement. It is now 7/26/2018 and this fan is failing. Considering this manufacturer is one of the only sources for this fan, I, unfortunately, will be buying another one as I don't have the money to buy a new laptop yet. This is NOT a quality product, and frankly, I'm rather irritated that it's on the fritz. Suppose that's what you can expect when working with an older laptop. Regardless, HP doesn't have a decent fan available anymore, so you get poor quality from third parties as your only option.

It had quite a lot of wabble to it and got stuck in some of the metal pieces right out of the box. when I turned it on it made a horrible noise from the fans rubbing against the metal casingI had to bend the metal casing a lot to get it to stay quiet enough so that I would not have to return it.you get what you pay for I guess. but for a single cooling fan this size it shouldn't be so bad2 stars only because it actually works

Replacement fan fit perfect in my HP Envy dv7-7333cl laptop. Arrived really fast. Replacement was a lot more difficult than anticipated! Not because of the fan, but the intricacy of the inner workings of the laptop itself. Definitely recommend having professional help available :)

Fan working perfect so far. Was a pain to disassemble laptop to get to the fan but it works great and PC is running much cooler after installation. Find a video on you tube for help. I found my exact model and that made the process much easier.

I ordered this as a replacement for a few HP laptops I have that are having fan noise. The fan is too think and you cannot put the cover back on the laptop. I ordered a similar replacement from a competitor but it was too thick to be installed as well. Finally scavenged one off of another dead HP laptop. I guess I will have to find a couple more dead HPs to fix the others (shouldn't be too hard).
