I liked this at first but now I just prefer getting organically grown meal worms which is alot more bang for your buck imo and less filler crap grains your chickens shouldn't really be eating anyway, I really didn't want my chickens eating corn or meal worms from china either so I just buy "Organically grown meal worms" instead which is around the same price for A LOT of meal worms!

Your feathered friends may have different opinions, so if you want to take a shot with this treat, go for it.My Eight Ladies' Opinion:Fermented organic Scratch and Peck feed beats this mix any day. Except for maybe the mealworm part - those are the real prize of this mix.My Opinion:I really like that Treats for Chickens provided an organic option, as I'm trying to keep my ladies as organically fed as possible. The mixture itself looks pretty well composed for treating chickens. I was happy to see a good number of mealworms in the mix. I did see a few of the shrimp (they are comparable to the mealworm in size) too. Those two items were more sought after than the cracked corn, as were the sunflower seeds.I'm down to about half a bag, over the course of a month, so it lasted longer than I thought it would. However, at $20 a bag, I'm not sure I'll be buying again. Plus, had I know that fermented feed was so popular with my chickens, I probably wouldn't have tried this. You might be better off finding a specific food item that the chickens go crazy for instead of a mix - if you want to invest the time in finding that out.If you are going to try some Chicken Crack, Treats for Chickens has the bag for about $5 less, but you'll have to pay shipping. If you are using their site, it is actually about a cent cheaper to get the 1lb 13oz bag than the 5lb bag. My chickens get a couple tablespoons of treat every afternoon. I am picky about their food and water both for their health and for mine since I eat their eggs. I make this last a month by adding oatmeal, chia seeds, mealworms, and raisins to the mix and storing it in glass jars. It’s a great mix; the chickens love it, and I get it automatically delivered from Subscribe and Save.

OK I usually buy the big bags of Chicken Scratch (treat) but needed some in a container for a chicken sitter we were having while we were gone. Well the chickens loved this stuff!! They come running (waddling) when they see the bucket. So now that I have used it all, I use the bucket for the regular chicken crack, and will be getting more of this when need and time permits.Great stuff, if you have just a couple of birds this will last you a good while, but with 8 like I have it lasted about a week..highly recommend it.

My product was filled with weevils. They had been in there for a while because the treats we're powdery, a sign that the weevils have been eating the grain for a while. Not only was the bag of treats filled with weevils, they had escaped into the shipping pouch. I hadn't known that there were weevils until I opened the treat bag, but all the weevils had already escaped into my home by the time I noticed them in the shipping pouch.

Every so often I treat my flock with a little more than their crumbles. When they see me coming with a treat bag they beg and jump for it. My hens eagerly scarf this up and very little gets wasted. I will be purchasing this again and again.

My chickens go wild crazy for this snack. Only 4 stars though as it is expensive for how much you get.

Everyday I am amazed how much our chickens enjoy this treat! We use it to help us get the chickens back into the run when they are free-ranging and we want them inside. We shake the bag and they will come running. It is hilarious to watch! We like that it is organic too. It's a little pricey, but well worth the extra expense.
