Great receiver, do yourself a favor and get it.
I had recently bought a new led t.v., unfortunately it doesn't have a regular composite output anymore, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Wii works with HDMI adapters. Let me say that this adapter is exactly what I needed.Very simply you just plug it into the back of the wii, then hook up any hdmi cable to it, and to your t.v..Let me tell you, that quality wise, it DOES make a difference, colors were much more vibrant, and the image was indeed sharper. You will be doing yourself a favor to get one of these, not only for the eliminating the hassle of having to plug in multiple wires into your t.v. but also having the best image you can get.

Converts to both 720p and 1080p!
This Wii HDMI Converter works great. You will need to buy your own HDMI cable with this to plug into an open HDMI port on the TV and the back end of the HDMI Converter. This converter has two settings 720p and 1080p which can be changed by poking through the whole on the side with a needle or paper clip. When you have the correct settings, all game graphics and Netflix videos look sweet!

Useful little device
Plug it in and it works. Perfect for implementing and all HDMI solution to your home A/V system. Very useful (and necessary) when using the lower cost A/V receivers that do not have scaling and/or transcoding functionality. To get the best resolution, be sure the Wii is set to 480p output. Both 720p and 1080p were recongized by the TV and looked good. I choose to set the device to 1080p, so the TV would not have to scale the final displayed image.Do not expect the image to look like HD. The Wii itself is not HD, so it will never look like HD. The best image will come from setting Wii to 480p and use a component cable. This device will give you that same result, but give you the flexibility of using HDMI cables.Would buy again, and will recommend to friends/family.

Junk
I received this product within 3 days using standard shipping. I removed it from the undamaged packaging and it literally fell apart. I pressed the pieces back into the casing and attempted to see if it would work. I connected the adapter to my Wii with an HDMI cable and selected the correct input on the TV. I got a message on the screen indicating no input from connected device. I proceeded to connect the Wii with component cables and it worked just fine. I can only conclude that this adapter is defective. I initiated a return with Amazon, but really would have preferred an exchange. That option was not available. Hopefully another seller will offer a better quality product.

Nice Converter
The converter works so I can plug the Wii into my HDTV. It does not do any kind of upscaling though, so you're not going to get any HD quality. I wasn't expecting it to, although it gives the impression that it will. I'm happy with the purchase since our new TV did not have hookups compatible with the Wii.

Chinese crap
This adapter literally fell apart in my hands as I tried to install it. The insides just slid out from the case, and the metal pins in the end that attach to the Wii separated from the plastic plug. I could not get them re-inserted. No glue was used to hold the item together.

Disappointed
I was really excited about this product, and when I received it, it worked for about two minutes. At that point, lines started flashing on my screen, the color went in and out, and the entire screen flashed a few times. I attempted to adjust the wires and make sure everything was plugged in properly, but it still wasn't working right. I ended up getting a refund and will be shipping it back. Hopefully it was just a lemon because I plan to purchase a similar product.

Reliable.
I use this for my old Wii that has become my Netflix box. It's perfect for the job and has no problems. The only problem is you may play with your Wii too much after you get this upgrade.

Simple to install, does what it says on the tin.
I was getting tired of the bulky composite connector for my Wii and wanted a simple elegant HDMI solution. There were not many reviews around that were meaningful on this product so I decided to write a short review here for others.Firstly the unit was delivered rapidly in fact I had it in my hands the next day, packaging was not over the top which is good to see nowadays and most of it was recyclable. As for the device itself I am pleased to say it works perfectly and with minimal fuss.Simply take the unit and plug it directly into the back of the Wii then connect your HDMI cable from there to the back of your monitor/TV. Initially the output from your Wii should be set to EDTV/HDTV (480p) in your Wii control panel you will then get an upscaled 720p single to your monitor/TV. You can switch this to 1080p simple by inserting a paper clip (or something similar) into the small hole on the device and it toggles between 720p & 1080p. I have it set to send out 1080p but both work fine.First thing you notice are the colours are much more vibrant and although the picture is upscaled from 480p there is not much pixelation at all, in fact its hardly noticeable over the original Wii output (which isn't exactly PS3 or 360 standard anyhow) - there is no lag or blur I could see. Sound is carried over the HDMI cable also so no need for any extra leads to the monitor/TV if it is capable of playing sound; if not there is a separate sound output on the device to connect to your amp or speakers.I am very pleased with the device it has achieved exactly what I set out to do, I highly recommend it.

Genius piece of technology
It is more of an extra for your Wii Cause it is so much easier to have instead of loads of different cables cause I use Component on my Wii and it is good cause they make the screen clearer than AV but the screen flickers on and off sometimes and this does nothing of the sort. Best thing is it is the same cable as other consoles so you don't need a thick AV cable or an ever thicker Component so it is tidy specially when all you need to do is take HDMI out of another console and plug it on the Wii or just get another cable which is still much smaller. Then you got the speaker port too which is a even better bonus if you fancy putting speaker connected to it which I have manage get them working with my TV speakers so it gives it an extra boost or if you have a speaker system then you have the speaker port to plug it into and that is like 3 Benefits of having it probably more cause if you use the normal AV cable then expect to see a much more clearer screen cause when AV was so blurry I just could not believe I put up with it until recent.

Awesome gadget
This has truly untied my hands with my old wii and with very little cost.I connect this to my 24 inch Dell screen and get the sound via the jack output to my speakers. Image quality is not astounding and is tiring if you look up close, but it is expected with the 480 output, as the upscaling is not natural and is based on approximating the colour of the nearby added pixels. If you intend to use it with the PC screen like me, it's best you set your wii to the 480 output, rather than the higher option, as the former has a more stable and crisp picture at 60Hz while the latter is at 50 and will tire your vision much more. If you want to hook it up to a large TV for long distance playing, 50Hz and full output will do fine.

Simple to fit. Upscaling not effective on my 50" TV.
This is very simple to fit, just need an HDMI cable to run from this device to your TV. Something to be aware of is that it sticks out quite a way back from the Wii and so may be a problem if space is very tight behind your Wii.I couldn't see any difference in the picture quality from my original composite audio/video cables. I'm using a new Samsung 50" LED and the TV reports a 720p signal from this device. I didn't really expect the picture to be better than with the composite cables anyway. The Wii is relatively old tech now and the 50" TV exaggerates the low resolution of the picture.I still think that this is worth getting if you want to tidy up or simplify an installation, just be aware of the bit of extra space needed behind you Wii.

Best Wii upscaler! Works uniformly well in 576i, 480p, 480i
There are some reviews seemingly saying that this doesn't support 480i or 576i but those are actually reviews of the second generation model (the bulky one). For some reason Amazon put those reviews on this product as well, I.E. the one with very good score is not the bad second generation model. This converter DOES upscale 480i, 576i and 480p signals to 720p or 1080p HDMI signals. The picture quality is never bad and there is no discolouration or visible interlacing lines. 240p (Virtual Console NES, SNES et.al.) displayed some lines at times but if most of these titles support 480i (Plug in Nunchuck and hold buttons Z+A+2 while in on-screen Operations Guide to activate). Of course the Wii will never look "sharp" on an HD screen and this product cannot work magic. There is a slight flickering in still, dark areas but it is hardly noticeable when playing games. I can only see it in the SD card menu on the Wii though. The biggest downside though is that this product only outputs 60Hz and when playing in 576i mode the Wii outputs 50Hz. This means that motions are not entirely smooth. Nothing too bad or noticeable but it might be a problem if you have motion sickness or want the ideal picture. Still THIS IS THE BEST Wii upscaler out there yet! Almost all Wii titles support 480p (so select this in the Wii settings for the smoothest motion) but remember PAL Gamecube games play in 576i 50Hz or 480i 60Hz (selectable on start up) so you have to choose between better resolution or smoother motion. No PAL Gamecube games support 480p 60Hz unfortunately. Also, most Virtual console games run in 576i 50Hz though TurboGrafx games run 480p 60Hz!By using a needle and pressing the button in the pinhole you can select between 720p and 1080p. I preferred the 720p mode since my HDTV smoothed out the pixels more then. Sound is carried over the HDMI-cable. The sound is good except for when the Wii makes loud sounds like the start-up chime or when you click on the home button. Only in those instances there is some temporal aliasing. The inbuilt 3.5mm headphone jack however, has awful quality with lots of temporal aliasing, but I don't need it anyway. The blue diode shines when the Wii is on or when it's in the yellow standby/WiiConnect24-mode but not when Wii is off. I didn't have a problem with it.

Really did do what it said on the tin !!
Being one of the worlds biggest sceptics and being let down so many times in the past by various "saviour products" I ordered this product not expecting too much. We do not use our Wii that much apart from when our granddaughters come to stay. However we recently bought the Monopoly game for us all to play at Christmas. We decided to give it a try first and although the game itself was great we were a little dissapointed that we could not clearly see a lot of the text and some of the smaller icons. Having only the standard cable that came with the Wii when we purchased it, I decided that may have been the culprit. After a little internet and Amazon research I plumped for this device. It arrived today, ahead of the promised time, and I have just installed it. So simple to install, it took me about 5 minutes. I set it on the HD1080 setting using a paperclip and my TV confirmed this with either a 720 or 1080 icon appearing on the screen, although this was not mentioned on the "back of the box" instructions, I had read this in one of the other reviews on Amazon, so knew what to do !! A total success, with the graphics being far crisper and the text now far more readable. I can recommend this device 100 percent !! It really does do, what it says on the tin" !!

Perfect!
I bought this product as I had just bought an HD TV which didn't have the right ports to support my current Wii setup. I came across this product while doing some research into my options and I haven't looked back!It arrived the day after I ordered it well packaged (all recyclable if that sort of this is important to you) and I plugged in the HDMI cable and the audio cable and instantly it worked. I had to change the setting to 1080p to get the best visuals by pressing the small button with a pencil tip but in short I am over the moon about the quality and ease of use of this product. I now have less cables, and gaming with better visuals is just the icing on the cake.

Does exactly what it says.
Very happy with this purchase, and it arrived very quickly. Doesn't come with any instructions but all you need to know is there is a pin hole for toggling 720p/1080p modes. The purpose of this device is to allow convenient connection of your Wii to a HD TV via a HDMI lead (not included). Don't expect a massive improvement in picture quality over using component cables because you won't get one but it does look better than using a composite cable.Does the job, very happy.

Awesome Wii/SkyHD Auto Switching Configuration!
Having run a single HDMI cable to our TV when I wallmounted it I had been looking for a switch that would take a composite or scart input as well as at least a couple of HDMI's so that I could hook up the Wii, our Sky HD and a DVD player through a single cable. Having bought already a NEET 3 way HDMI auto switch (also a great little product) I found this little adaptor simply to convert from the Wii to HDMI.The installation involved little more than plugging it into the port where you would connect the usually Wii AV cable and connecting into it the HDMI cable. The Wii home screen will appear straight away on the TV and you should go to the settings icon in the bottom left corner and navigate to the TV type section. There you can select the TV type as being HDTV and once you have done this there is a little hole into which you can insert a pin to select 720p or 1080p to upscale the image.I was not expecting much but there is a notable improvement in the picture quality which is a bonus for me as I was hoping only to get hassle free connectivity which I now have thanks to the NEET HDMI Auto switcher/Wll to HDMI combination. In case anyone is looking to do similar this combination works really well. When we want to play the Wii we simply switch it on and it automatically displays and when we want to watch Sky we simply switch off the Wii and Sky automatically displays. For this to work the Sky HD box needs to be connected to input 1 on the HDMI auto switch.Very happy!

Recommended for 720p HDMI
Works very reliably at 720p (over 1 year of reliable use). 1080p does not work well - I found that the output flickered and there were problems with intermittent sound. As the original output from the Wii is 480p anyway, 720p is fine (even if it is just upscaled). The colours seem to be also be markedly better using this adaptor than using the Nintendo official component cables.Recommended!

Great solution
I had recently wall mounted a large flat screen TV and having fed all the TV cables through the wall needed to find a product to extend the composite lead that comes with the Wii. I actually stumbled upon the HDMI converter option and was led by the positive feedback on this Wii to HDMI converter which looked to be a simple and uncomplicated solution compared to some other options I found that had lengthy instructions. The product arrived ahead of the estimated delivery time, was well packaged and came with easy to follow instructions. Whilst initially sceptical of how easy it would be to install it really was a case of plugging in the HDMI lead into the converter and then into the Wii. Switching on the Wii, toggling to 1080P and we were up and running in a few minutes! Even though we are now playing on a bigger TV and knowing the limitations of the Wii itself, the image is even better than before.Excellant product, would definitely recommend.

Great product and supplier
We needed a simpler connection for our Wii and found this very handy device which not only simplifies things but has the added bonus of up scaling to 1080p. The picture is now much improved. My fears with the device being in Germany regarding delivery were unfounded as the package arrived, as stated, on the second day after ordering highly recommended product and Company.

Excellent
Having recently updated our television it was necessary to purchase this product to continue using the Wii. This adaptor plugs straight in easily and you're ready to go. Not only is this product exactly what we needed, the company were excellent on both their help choosing this product and with all corresondence.

Wii to HDMI - it just works.
It's a converter. It converts. πIt is very small so therefore very discreet behind the Wii. Picture is great.I am using this to feed the HDMI signal to my AV unit and it works without flaw. π

Works perfectly
This is a must have accessory for the Wii. Most TV's now come with HDMI sockets but the Wii does not output HDMI - so you either have to buy an adapter to output component video (an expensive cable with 3 wires and plugs) or use the low res cable that comes with the console. The converter arrived ontime and its a very simple plug and play. It works with no issues and no technical knowledge is needed, just remember to buy a HDMI lead to go with it.
