La Petite Mort

It's alright
Nice novella but due to it's short length, I didn't really connect to love the characters.

Not bad...
I'm not usually a fan of short stories so keep that in mind when I say this story was just mediocre. I guess I had my hopes up high because I loved Atlas Six. I think if you enjoy short stories, vampires and the New Orleans setting, you will enjoy this book.

gorgeous
The New Orleans setting is rich and beautiful. Marisa is pulled into the supernatural world and in different directions trying to figure out who to trust, but never loses herself and never gives up. And, in the end, she defied my expectations. Elisabeth, for me, immediately stole the show. I found her history and her motivations so compelling. Jack was a complicated character who was also just fun to have around, when everything wasn't going horribly wrong. I loved how Marisa and Elisabeth interacted with him, and with each other. The three of them are so different, and face the world in such different ways. It's a short read, but so satisfying, and I highly recommend it.

Incredible Tale of Magic and Love
This book is absolutely superb. I have long been a fan of Olivie Blake’s work, and this might be my favorite. The characters are vivid and compelling, and she immediately draws you into the magic and mystery of the story. The world she creates is intricately and beautifully intertwined with our own, and I couldn’t step away. I cannot recommend this book highly enough!!!

Yikes
A very basic concept of a story (poorly formatted) that was seriously underwritten and rushed. Everything that happens in the book is a vague notion done by characters who don't make any sense, especially the main one, who flits around by the whims of others and serves no purpose whatsoever. The promised atmosphere is nowhere to be found Unfortunate: I recently read The Atlas Six by this author and liked it, so the decline in quality here (I know it's an earlier work) was a surprise. This was not worth the paper it was printed on.Go read A Dowry of Blood by S. T. Gibson if you want something with good historical vampire vibes and much better writing than you'll find in this particular work.
