**Please click "helpful" below if my review is useful to you.After 2 years of using this car seat and its predecessor, I know it inside out. I bought it when my son outgrew the Chicco Keyfit. He is big for his age and was 25lbs by 8 months old.PROS--Very easy to install using lower anchors or belt.--High quality materials - smooth liner, thick foam pads, sturdy fabric.--Very roomy, even for a taller and heavier child.--Easy to clean - my son vomited in it a couple of times, unfortunately.--Chest clip is hard for toddlers to open - very important if you have a cheeky tot like mine.CONS--Really, really heavy! Goodness, carrying this thing feels like carrying out a sentence of hard labor.--Neck rest is awkwardly placed so that, no matter how you adjust it, it is either too low or too high.--Confusing manual that is entirely too long.--Rather wide - this is not the car seat to bring to the airport or install in the center seat of a minivan.Conclusion: Buy it if you have only a couple of children. You will not be able to install more than one other car seat in the same row as it because it is rather wide. Your child will like it because it is like a well-fortified, roomy throne.

Excellent top rated car seat. Easy to adjust and install. This is by far the favorite car seat I've owned and I've got 4 kids!

My barely 3 year old must have LONG fingers because she can push her fingers into the hole (by the knees) to COMPLETELY loosen the straps and climb out of her buckles while I'm driving! This renders the carseat absolutely useless! I cannot drive constantly looking back to make sure my child is buckled tightly. I called Britax who will do NOTHING for me, not even a refund or replacement, as they see the shallowness of the hole not being "a credible manufacturer's defect!" Britax customer service's only solution was that I just need to have a serious talk with my two/three year old about not loosening the straps. I have...Many times! Anyone who knows this age, knows that a parent cannot put their trust in believing their cognitive-developing toddler will obey at ALL times when safety of LIFE is on the line! Needless to say, I am NOT AT ALL impressed with the Britax company who is completely unwilling to resolve this issue with me, and definitely not impressed with this "quality product." I would've expected MUCH more from a carseat costing over $270!!!!!!

We were worried at first because this material is not as plush/cozy as our previous Britax seat, but our girls love it even more. The material and padding is just the right mix to allow for comfort, but not over heat. It’s also much much easier to clean this than a plush material. Our girls also liked the seat pad that added additional comfort. We enjoyed the removable seat pad for all the gross things that just happen sometimes with kids.

I was hesitant about getting a convertible car seat but my wife won the argument in the end and so we got it. I installed it using the seat belt but it seems that it is easier to use the LATCH system instead. It was slim enough for us to install it in the middle seat of the middle row in our minivan but it does prevent the other side seats from folding down now (we do not use the last row as much so its not an issue). A coworker of mine has used a number of car seats over the years for his kids and feels that Britax is better than a number of other brands. I bought it prior to his recommendation and am happy with the purchase so far but plan to update if things change.

This is my second car seat from Britax, along with a stroller. This basically explains the family's preference and good experience with Britax products. This car seat is sturdy, stable, durable and easy to install. The latter was an important point for me especially given my small 5'4" frame.The only gripe I have with Britax is the cup holders, not a necessity but still... the car seats are not designed with a built in cup holder like some other brands e.g. Graco. The cup holders are sold separately and can cost quite a bit in the range of $15 +/-. 2 kids , 2 car seats, that's $30 in 1 car! Also, it seems like cup holders aren't a key part of their design because in both the car seats and their strollers, the cup holder attaches to the side, by a small plastic catch. They are easily knocked out and take up space. This is not really an issue if no one sits by the car seat, if not, the cup holder gets in the way when one is packing it in in the back seat. Again, a cup holder isn't a necessity for all, but design could be better if one should want it, so 1 star off.

My 19 month old daughter really enjoys this upgrade from her Graco infant car seat. She says, "New sawgeet!" After 2 months, it's been great and I trust Britax, too.Some reviewers mentioned the quality was poor, but seems durable to me and I think (especially if this is on-sale when you're reading this like it was for me), it is a great car seat.

I bought this in 2015 once my daughter turned 1. It is heavy. As soon as she was in it, I felt she was safe. The installation especially the latch system was easy. Unfortunately, in 2019, we got in a rollover car accident BUT this car seat kept my daughter safe! She was hanging upside down when I got to her and she walked away with no injuries. Not even a scratch but a small bruise on her thigh. I cannot recommend this car seat enough. She had about a few more year before she fully outgrown the car seat. Due to the accident, we had to buy a new one but it is not a Marathon. It kept my babies safe.

Llevo ya 3 años comprando asientos de bebé, siempre en marca Britax. Esta generación G4.1 tiene los mejores acabados hasta ahora. Desde la tela mucho más respirable, hasta los straps de los hombros mucho más acolchonados. El asiento se siente de una excelente calidad, y es fácil de instalar ya sea volteando para adelante o para atrás. Mis bebés siempre van muy cómodos en estos asientos. Lo recomiendo!
