Very extremely thin... I don't mind it, but it's just that I've never seen any shiki-buton so thin actually being used in Japan. If you're Japanese, and expect the average shiki-buton, this isn't it. I'll still use it regardless since I'd rather not have a bed.

I bought this to try because I have chronic back pain and I’d heard good things about these kinds of futons, but I couldn’t afford to buy anything else to go with it. The mattress is entirely too thin to use on its own. If you’re going to buy this, you need to have a thicker “under mattress” (that’s what I’ve seen them called) to go with it. I woke up with more pain than I started with...

Took a week for the chemical smell to dissipate, otherwise pretty satisfied with purchase. The color was also more of a mustard yellow and chocolate brown.

It's ok if you don't need a bed and either dont have the room or money. However it's not very comfortable to sleep on if your used to a bed.

セカンドハウスの来客用和室で使える物・・・ということで此方の和布団を選びました。選んだ理由として一番の決め手は「素材」です。生地、中綿共に「ポリエステル100％ 」の為、綿埃が出ません。また、軽量なので便利なこと、簡易的な物ですが収納袋も付いているのは便利です。色も、とても落ち着いている色合いで素敵です。現在価格も非常に安価ですが、私はプライムデーに購入しましたので更に安価で助かりました。
