same with attaching to the fire stem Overall a good product
have to be careful with the slider adjusting the readout improperly; must be held a certain way; same with attaching to the fire stemOverall a good product though

Tread Gauge DOES not Zero
Overall SummaryThe tread depth does not zero.Zero thread depth does not read zero.It reads 1.1 mm.So unless my unit is defective or I missed how to zero the thread depth gage .... I am shocked of the many positive reviews ...Sad I bought it and too cheap to return suchSTAY AWAY

Very slick, works, but annoyingly flawed
Neat item and provides both tire pressure checking and tread depth measuring, the latter an often overlooked but critically important item. It functions well in most regards, but I chose four and not five stars because it's really tough to connect to a tire to measure the pressure. You place the connection sleeve over the tire valve assuming it will guide and properly seat the device on the end of the tire valve, but it does not, it wiggles and lets air out and gives unreliable readings. It is not well designed so you can intuitively guide it with your hands, it's awkward. Ultimately, I found that not trying to seat it squarely, which works with other gages, but rather approximating it and then just brute-forcing it against the valve to prevent air leakage and such works best. With that said, a disappointingly necessary approach, it works and works well. I think it's a good device but flawed and needs a disconcerting work-around, then it works well. The tread depth works very well, no issues. Perhaps it is to other gages like democracy as viewed by Winston Churchill, "The worst in the world except for all the rest"?

Flimsy. Worked twice ok, then just a cheesy piece of plastic. An air pressure gauge without a nub so you can release pressure on the valve stem. Think about it - is that well designed?

Great purchase. Item seems very accurate
Great purchase. Item seems very accurate. I compared the tire depth to a mm tape. It was exact. I used it recently to purchase a couple of used tires. The reading were exact compared to my tape. The front desk lady tried to tell me that the guage was off compared to her manual tire depth gauge. We used marks on a sheet of paper to illustrate and compare. Turns out that she didn't know how to read hers correctly. She was 2-3mm more than the actual amount. Strange for someone who does this all the time. Go figure.

More like a hook for storage on garage wall
Too big to be on key ring. More like a hook for storage on garage wall.

Not accurate.
Had to return the item after noticing that it would read 0.6mm even before the measuring rod was released from the housing. 0.6mm may not sound like a lot, but it tells me a lot about the design of the item.
