A beautiful album ... delightful to experience.

This CD falls into the category of "Wish I hadn't bought it, but won't throw it away." There are no memorable songs on here, some nice chill music, some super bland trancy background music, and a couple of horribly insipid love songs that I can't bear listnening to, one of which reminds me of Gloria Estefan. Except for the love songs, it's all easy to listen to. There are probably people who like the love songs (somebody's buying Gloria Estfan). Obviously some other people love this CD. It's OK, but I can't recommend it. Too bland and uninspired and there's better to be had. I've just bought it and I'm already pulling tracks off onto mixed CD's because this CD doesn't hold my interest, even on the first listen.Craig Armstrong, Charles Webster, The Dining Rooms, Boozoo Bajou, Hotel Costes, Buddha Bar, to name a few, are all better.

Some of the songs on this album seem dopey in isolation, but I find myself jonesing for it if I don't listen to it at least once a week. For me, that's unusual, so I think it's special.

'Cafe del Mar',first crossed my path with it's Cool,Sultery sounds in 1995 with 'Volumen Dos'...I became a Devotee, but who or what was 'Cafe del Mar'???..As the Years elapsed Jose Padilla began to Evolve..First with the collection of mixes, to what Music he now Writes and Produces...In my view the Man has Visionary Insight to those other Realms that we only Dream about....'NAVIGATOR',his 2001 production, which through The Oxford Dictionary, translates as "one charged WITH or SKILLED in NAVIGATION, a method of determing a position and course by Geometry (the science of properties and relations of magnitudes...) and Astonomy (the science of the HEAVENLY BODIES ...of more than EARTHLY or HUMAN EXCELLENCE....)" That too, would be my interpretation of this Album...SO..Give your soul a lift and let it soar while the NAVIGATOR, Jose Padilla, Navigates you through the Sensual,Seductive,Fluid Latin Sounds, allowing them to fill your sences...Do Yourself a Favour....It only keeps geting BETTER and BETTER and BETTER..............

2 1/2Exotic but bland. Eclectic but predictable. This electronic album plays like a compilation and works best as background music since there are only about 2 whole tracks actually worth paying attention to. The remainder, while far from being a disaster, rarely expands past it's producer-intensive feel, either sounding arrangement-heavy or musically cliched.

All started when I first saw the MV of Adios Ayer on TV.... I loved it and cried when I heard the lyrics as I've just broken up with my lover and his image still appears in my mind every time I play adios ayer now. BTW, the whole album is fantastic and it is a huge improvement from Padilla's debut album. I'm looking forward to the third.

...I disagree with some reviewers that label this album as forgettable or predictable. .............. It's not AMAZING, but it does what it's supposed to do, take you to WHATEVER place you want to be IN YOUR MIND. Padilla is an expert craftsman. Never doubt his TRIPS %^)
