It requires strength to pull back and utilize it's full potential but that doesn't mean one couldn't get hurt or cause mischief with 1/2 power. I have similar, Daisy, sling shots without the wrist support for my boys 9 and 11 and they complain that they are hard to pull back. They prefer the homemade slings we made using large rubber-bands. Pulled it back shot a ball bearing completely through both sides of a rubber maid plastic trash can. Them are pretty tough cans.
