**Q: What is the range on the sensor?**
A: Motion sensor detects movement up to 5 feet (1.5 M).

**Q: I want to use this to keep my dog off the kitchen counter.  Will the alarm shut itself off and if so how long does the alarm sound?**
A: This is a toy...  at best it works sporadically.  It stopped functioning completely after 20 minutes.  I would obtain a standard motion detector chime to use for the manner stated in your question.

**Q: What size batteries does it use?**
A: Micro Motion Alarm needs 2 AAA batteries (not included).

**Q: How do you turn this thing off?**
A: Please push the button to the middle; all of the way to 1 side is motion detection, all of the way to the other side is vibration detection, and the middle is off.
