I found it easiest to remove the screw that holds the two halves of the base together in order to feed the wires through it. The lights can then be screwed onto the base. The light looks well made. It has a number of features that makes it easy to use. It uses 12V or 24V DC. Polarity does not matter, so it can be wired in NPN or PNP configurations. This means the common wire can either be positive or negative voltage. Each light has an internal switch so you can switch between flashing or solid light. The lenses can be removed individually by twisting off, but it is easiest to just twist off the green lens and then remove all lenses as a unit to get access to the internal switches. I tested the light with both 12VDC and 24VDC and the brightness appeared to be about the same. The audio alarm is not as loud as a smoke alarm but it is very noticeable. The only negative is the brightness which could higher.
