The Lap King Lap Desk - Black - The Ultimate Lap Tray, Lapdesk, Computer Lap Desk or Laptop Table

I ordered this lap desk after initially having purchased one at Walmart a few months ago. First off, any lap desk is a great addition for anyone that uses a laptop frequently. So much more comfortable and better for your computer cooling. I decided to purchase the Lap King after the Walmart one I had began to have color fading. It was made of wood, and must've been cheap (Walmart, afterall), because any time I'd clean it with a rag the color would leak off. I think it was also making my mouse stickier.Pros of the Lap King:-Plastic/rubber top is the only way to go, these things will get dirty, and being able to clean them quickly and easily is a huge plus. This is worth it alone compared to my previous wooden one.-Cushioning/Neck Pillow - Much more cushioning than the last model I had, which makes it more comfortable and protects from heat better.Con:-As previously stated, the surface of the lapking is a hard plastic, not rubber (unfortunately). This makes it very slippery if your device doesn't have rubber stoppers on the bottom. I've been using it with a keyboard and mouse, and it hasn't caused too much inconvenience. I'll find a way to fix it on my laptop, not a major issue, but something to note.-The lip around the tray can be somewhat uncomfortable if you don't have your hands positioned right. However, it also depends on how you are using it. When using it as a food tray, the lip is much appreciated.

I bought the original LapKing a few years ago & thought it was a great item being in a wheelchair or out on the couch. I use it all the time & decided to get another one. The earlier version "leaked" the foam beads at a few areas of the stitching, ended up adding more stitching to seal up the gaps. The new version has a double lining, one to hold the foam beads & the outer cover that could be wash. The earlier one couldn't be washed without washing the entire cushion with the foam beads together. The description stated a reversible non slip tabletop, thinking that this would be an improvement from the 1st version that had an optional non slip insert that was very helpful for items ie. glass of water, dishes from sliding off the table top. To my disappointment, the new version "non-slip" reversible table top is NOT really "non-slip" same shiny plastic top. There was no option to purchase a non-slip insert so had to make one myself. Had to buy, cut and modify the table top with tool drawer non slip inserts. Overall, this was a good buy but wished it was better designed after all these years from the original version that I had many years ago.

I really like the concept of this lap desk. The textured tray is great at dispersing the heat from the bottom of the laptop-- a perpetual problem. I really like the thickness of the cushion as it is easily manipulated to create a customized tilt/angle.I have two main problems with this product. First, the tray is not perfectly flat, so my laptop doesn't sit flush on the tray. My laptop has four rubber "feet" and only a couple of them make contact with the tray at any given time. This causes the laptop to slide around. This problem is compounded by the textured surface which provides less surface area for the feet to grip. The second problem is the material used in the tray. It is slightly rough, but it's made out of hard plastic. Any hard item is going to slide off of the surface.So ultimately, the problem is that my laptop slide around all over the surface of the tray. In the few days I've used this product I've had to save the laptop from sliding off and landing on the floor a few times. I hate that because I think this product has real promise.One other note-- I know the cushion is advertised as a neck pillow, but I wouldn't use it as such except in a pinch.

**My disclaimer I always make sure to use a product I've purchased off Amazon.com for a full 30/60 days before I leave my feedback so a potential buyer would be getting a fair & honest review** I like the laptop pillow it's comfortable, it does feel sturdy, and I like the fact that I can use it as a dinner tray, as well as a laptop table. However, I do find myself having to adjust the pillow that's on the bottom by fluffing it up because it sometimes loses its shape. I also use it as a back support behind some other pillows and it still holds up very well. The tray can balance my Hp 11 Stream & my Kindle Fire HDX without any issues. You cannot use this tray for writing because of the bumps on top and that's another reason why I only gave it four stars. The pillow can also be removed for cleaning purposes. I do recommend this product, especially if your strapped for cash. A good product compared to the other higher-priced laptop desks.

I bought this for my Toshiba Qosmio X505. As many people know who own this product it is rather hard to find accessories that will fit this laptop. After reading up on it and seeing the dimensions I figured I would give this a try. It is perfect for this laptop. Do not expect any kind of room for your mouse - but your laptop will fit on this with little room to spare.There are several great things about this lap desk. First of all the price is great for the product. Secondly, the multifunction of it makes it worth the money. Even if this wasn't going to work for my laptop I was still going to use it as a breakfast in bed tray.The product quality is great. The pillow underneath is comfortable yet stable. The tray is a very thick plastic that supports my very heavy laptop with no problem. The only real complaint I have is the color I bought. After I got this I saw that there is a bright red and black version of this available that would have matched my laptop. I would have preferred to get that color.This is a wonderful product and you will not be disappointed if you buy it. I would never recommend a product to others if I wasn't 100% sure I would buy this again for the same price.
