If not, which one has the smallest hand guard?** A: I bought a pair of protective gloves and that's what I use to make sure I don't get cut while I'm using the slicer/mandoline. Mine are called No Cry gloves and come in different sizes. They work well and are also washable. I just couldn't seem to master the hand guard on the Swissmar Borner V-1001 V Slicer Plus Mandoline 5 Piece Set. **Q: Is this a hand held model? if so, is there one that has a stand?** A: Yes, this is hand held model. This particular model doesn't come equipped with stand. It's an older model but, supreme in every way when compared to a new model. Extremely sharp, produced in Germany. **Q: Does it dice onions.?** A: yes it does, you slice one direction, turn onion and slice other direction . i own this and know this true. go to boner on you tube and watch a great video on all it can do. yo use the insert w/ the teeth ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐ Aggrieved *by on Reviewed in India 22 October 2020* Less costly model v3 trendline sent so not satisfied, aggreived. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ V-Slicer Plus Mandoline quality that lasts! *by on Reviewed in Canada 30 March 2025* I purchased one of these slicer/dicers from the CNE 38 years ago. I’m still using it today , although the blades are rather dull after that many years. I use it pretty much on a daily basis. Easy cleanup, a simple rinse is all it needs. I was thrilled to find this on Amazon and it is actually made by the same company as my old one! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Probably the best V-slicer on the market *by on Reviewed in Australia 11 April 2024* Great product. This is my second one, the first lasted over 40 yearsThe storage box is a little cumbersome. ## Frequently Bought Together - Swissmar Borner V-1001 V-Slicer Plus Mandoline 5 Piece Set (Orange) - NoCry Premium Cut Resistant Gloves Food Grade — Level 5 Protection; Ambidextrous; Machine Washable; Superior Comfort and Dexterity; Lightweight; Complimentary eBook --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.be/products/219873924-stainless-steel-v-slicer-plus-mandoline-orange](https://www.desertcart.be/products/219873924-stainless-steel-v-slicer-plus-mandoline-orange) --- *Product available on Desertcart Belgium* *Store origin: BE* *Last updated: 2026-10-23*
