Many of the reviewers don't include what their measurements are and what size they purchased. Thanks! (me-12to14. w32 h43)** A: I think they run a little large? I say that because I'm 5'1" and weigh 125 pounds. My problem is my weight is in my bottom, so to fit my hips/butt I normally wear a size 12 petite Levi's jeans. And my Marmot ski pants is a size "Large." But I've been searching for shorter ski pants, and so I ordered these in Medium Short, and they fit great in length and hips/butt. As usual, the waist and legs are too wide, but I'm used to that (being forced to size all my pants based on hip/butt size). These pants have two velcro tabs in the waist which helps a bit. Anyway, based on my fitting a Medium Short, it makes me think they run large (again, with other brands I have to buy size 12 or Large). **Q: are they waterproof?** A: No, not at all.I have 2pairs of snow pants. My old snow pants are waterproof so I was able to star warm and dry all the time. And, I wanted to try this new snow pants yesterday and I am totally disappointed. I wore these pants on snowy day and all my clothes from theses pants to underwear got soaked wet after 2hr skiing lesson. I would not recommend these pants unless you want to get wet after playing in snow. **Q: Is this a petite size? I'm 5'5 and a 32 in. inseam would be way too long. I would probably get a large. Anyone know if these were too long?** A: I usually wear a 30” inseam and regular was perfect for me I think because of snow boots and such. I ordered some “slim” fit snow pants with a huge amount of good reviews and was incredibly disappointed. First, they’re mens cut - weird awkward fit - second, they just weren’t warm. I was in dry 63 degree weather and I may as well have been wearing jeans. So, I ordered Arctix brand womens snow pants. Much much more insulated. Actually cut for a woman’s form so they fit very well! I’m not in the snow yet but it’s a windy 50 degree day and I was as warm as I could possibly be - I ordered another pair right away! For me, they run a bit big but not so big that they look clownish. Big enough to slip some thermal pants underneath (for the snow) and still be comfortable. You can adjust the waist on these because they have sturdy Velcro - there’s also loops for a belt. I freaking love these. Forget the slim look - yeah they’d be cuter but you’ll be freezing. These also have room to comfortably go over your snow boots on the bottom - OR - as I did, fold back once down near the cuffs (we used to call this pegging our pants back in the 80’s haha) and bring my boots up over them - tie boots snugly and they feel softer than the sock and boots only. Highly recommend! Arrived next day! I’m 5”6 and weigh probably 132 pounds right now. I have short legs so I got the medium short size and they’re a freaking dream! PS - they look really good! I was a little nervous about staying warm since Colorado can get so cold, but these were absolutely perfect. The insulation is really impressive for how lightweight they feel, and I never felt bulky or restricted while I was out on the mountain. I spent all day skiing and my legs stayed nice and toasty the whole time.The fit of the Arctix Women's Insulated Snow Pants is actually really great because of the adjustable waist. I usually have a hard time finding pants that stay up without being too tight, but I could adjust these perfectly over my base layers. I also love the boot gaiters because they actually stayed in place and kept all the snow out of my boots even when I accidentally ended up in some deeper powder.For the price, you really can’t beat the quality of these. They have these reinforced guards at the bottom that kept them from getting shredded by my ski edges, which is a huge plus. I’ve already told my friends they need to grab a pair for our next trip. I normally wear a Medium because I'm between an American 8 or 10. (123lbs, 5'1") I ordered the Large Short (29 inseam). The inseam was perfect but the pants were so tight I could see the white thread of the seam peeking out on my hips when standing. I didnt bother sitting. They seem sturdy and warm though so I simply re-ordered 2 sizes up. I should be able to sit in those... Wide waist band, one pull through button....Got the 1X/29 in: WAY TOO BIG. Felt like a true 16W. Why on earth the reorder came in without Cargo pockets is beyond me.... narrow waist band, Two slide hooks and velcro patch to keep "buttoned". re-ordered the XL this time....Got the XL in. Its about 2 sizes up from the large and 2 sizes below the 1X. Still a little big but not as big as the 1X. These sizes are SUPER FUNKY. Also, again, no cargo pockets. This one also arrived without the circle hoop on the belt loop. No where to hang keys. I give up! Also, wider waist band, one pull through button.Takeaway: Sizes are funky, order two sizes up from your size. What arrives may not be identical to the pictured product. Warm.
