Hall & Oates start here. Some of the rarest white soul records were those cut by the Temptones for Artic Records in Philadelphia. They were sought-after because they were among the best blue-eyed soul records ever cut, and because the singles marked the debut of Daryl Hall and John Oates. Now the orginal 45s have been augmented by 17 other unissued demos from the collection of Barry Glazer to make this one of the most collectible soul CD of the decade. Titles include Girl I Love You, Baby Yes I Do, and I Wish It Would Rain.

Good CD but John Oates was not in the group
This is a terrific cd that chronicles one of the best blue eyed soul groups of the 60s. Stylistically they are in the same wheelhouse as the Temptations and this is a collectors gem. One of their singles like Girl I Love You bw Goodbye on Philly's Arctic records is selling for over $300.00. The editorial description that the "the singles marked the debut of Daryl Hall and John Oates" is totally inaccurate. Daryl Hall (then Hohl) did sing with the group along with Brian Utain, Barry Glazer, Ken Halpern and Paul Fogel (who left the group in 1965 to join the US Air Force. BUT John Oates was not in the Temptones. It doesn't matter in terms of buying the cd. It's a nice piece of memorabilia that really shows what the Temptones were all about.

Daryl Hall's voice was already at that eary stage a marvel
Listening to Daryl Hall in his beginning years is a matter of great expectations. What we learn is that he already then had what we later have appreciated so much: his clear and flexible voice.
