Outdated needs to be in every household, needs to be read by singles, dating couples, married couples, and parents. This book makes Christian dating doable, less scary and exciting. JP shows, through Scripture and personal stories, how God’s grace is available for everyone and it is never too late to make lifestyle changes to point our lives towards Christ. My favorite feature of this book are “The lies and “The Truths”. Each chapter beings with a lie that is advertised to us in our culture. By the end of the chapter, the truth given has been supported with Scripture and inspires you to make these mind shifts and lifestyle changes in order to strive towards that truth. I have listened to podcast on podcast of Becoming Something and this book is the icing on the cake. There are a lot of problems in modern culture and I can see where dating is at the source. As a college student, I see these problems everywhere I look, in myself and my community. I am so thankful for a book that can transform what I thought to be “ok” and the backbone to talk to my friends about these issues too. The most important conclusion this book gives us is to remember that the happily ever after that we should be chasing is one with God, earthly marriage is simply a vessel to help some of us get there. Thank you JP for your honest words that often voice the unpopular opinion but backing it up with Scripture to give them validity.
