We had a feral cat give birth to 5 kittens. It was my goal to catch them and finish bottle feeding them last summer to tame them and find good homes for them. (I've done this before with much success!) Unfortunately, the day Mama kitty brought the kittens out from their "nest" I ended up in the hospital with major surgery and summer-long recuperation. I started playing with the much older kittens in late summer with a stick and string, a toy they love. I have 2 of the bolder boys tamed to where I can pet them (but not pick them up) and 2 more that I can touch under limited circumstances. This toy is largely responsible for the ability to touch the second 2 as it has raised their trust level with me. The one female has proven to be quite the acrobat! I hope to be able to capture and have at least 2 of the boys fixed this summer, thanks in part to this toy!

I bought a toy similar to this at target and was shocked with how much my cats loved playing with this bird-like prey. This is the first product I've ever felt compelled to write a review for, because it's that good.I inherited a cat and was trying to figure out what would make him happy so I bought a few different kinds of toys. This is his favorite thing in the world. He'll come running from across the house, and I can use it to lure him inside if he ever gets out. He cuddles with it and will carry it around until someone plays with him. I've had it for a year now, and he's destroyed some of the birdies, so the refill is great. You can even take the bell off of some and have quiet versions for nighttime play.If you have a playful cat, get this. All cats deserve this much fun in their lives.

I have 3 cats and until recently 2 feather teasers of the sort you can purchase in your average pet store, namely a solid rod about 19 inches long with a cord of equal length with feathers and a bell at the end. One of my cats is a toy Bogart and I decided I needed three toys so when a tired kitty decides to sit on their respective toy I can use another to amuse the next cat, recall I have three cats. This toy arrives some assembly required, but not too hard (a pair of needle nose pliers makes the clip for the toy to attach easier to open and close). It is thinner so more flexible, is longer with a longer cord (about 34 inches). This toy immediately became the toy of choice across all three cats... hotly contested, so much so they ignored the older 19-inch toys, it flies higher and wider, and just has more kitty loving action. So now I have purchased 2 more of these for my cats. It does come with extra feathered ends, which I have not used any of yet.

I am so glad I found this. It is nearly impossible to find toys like this anymore. its crazy!! Seeing this I had to buy it.My cat had something like this when she was a kitten. (I think it was called da bird??)I am happy with it and so is she.upon opening it one of the feather's jingled and she came running then began climbing and mewing to rush me to put it together.She picked out the teal birdie and held it in her mouth waiting as I put the rod together.The metal hook where you put the bird was really hard to open so I got assistance on it with stronger hands and my cat followed me when I took the feather and the rod to get help.She loved to play with it and I know she will be happy for a long time with this toy.The rod is nice and long so it can glide in the air and make for fun trying to chase, jump and catch it. My cat was so excited she ended up flopping on the floor she was so tired after we played.Very happy cat mother!!!!!!

As soon as I started to assemble this toy, my cat, Matcha, was meowing and pawing as she was so excited to get to the jingling bundle of feathers. For the first week, this feather toy has been lightweight, yet sturdy, and great at whipping and flouncing around the air and engaging my 1 year old cat. However, I soon started to notice that some of the thin, longer feathers were rather brittle, and in all her energy Matcha has been gradually breaking down the feather bundle. This is to be expected, which is why I'm glad this package comes with five options of feather bundles, but since Matcha has a history of eating bits of non-edible things and throwing them up, I was concerned about her breaking off the smaller, sharper feather chunks and eating them. Additionally, I will be removing the bells from the replacement bundles because she broke off the current one within a few days, and I am again worried about her swallowing and eating them.

Bought it for my cat for Christmas. Didn't know what to expect since it's a hit or miss with most cats. He loves it. It's been six months and he still begs to play with it everyday. It's a great way to bond with him and to get him to exercise. Only thing are the feathers and the bell do eventually fall out but that could be due to the aggressive nature of my cat. That being said, there are many colors to choose from and each last my cat for awhile before I need to change it out. I ordered another one for my brother's cat and his cat loves it too.
