Amazing box set by and amazing band! Love every song on the original album plus the newly added remixes and rarities are very enjoyable. The big booklet is very nice and well crafted. I had Lies as my wake up music for a long time. Problem is I just wanted to let it play while drifting in and out of dreamworld. Now it's only for weekend wakeup.Beautiful music. I have it vinyl so choosing an appropriate turntable is next on the agenda

In this remarkably cool, ambient debut, Hooverphonic defined its sound as one of urban solitude, empty streets, and chilly, vacant buildings: a sound it developed even further on its terrific followup, Blue Wonder Power Milk, and subsequent cds. Its music is that of what could have been, and in its songs (I hesitate almost to name them that, for the depth of feeling they evoke), such as Inhaler, 2Wicky, and Barabas, the band expresses in melody and arrangement something almost poetic. It's quite an accomplishment, which suggests the best of Eno, Portishead, and Goldfrapp--i.e., the best, most original lounge, ambient, and trip-hop artists around.

This is the most relaxing album I have ever listened to. A glass of wine and turn the lights down. This is a peacefully chill album. Another wonderful album that is even better on vinyl.

One of my favorite "electronica" records of all time.

I absolutely love this album!! Too bad the group felt the need to 'evolve' beyond the feel of these tracks. Like so many groups, they forget what we fell in love with and go changing stuff & blow the entire feeling. I was so excited about this album i bought two more, blue powder milk was okay but not as good as this album.Buy this one, be very selective about all other albums hence.

Its amazing when you like a genre and there is an artist who everyone says fits it and the commercial release is just sheer rubbish. Thats what I found with Hooverphonic. There track 2wicky is as boring as anything I have ever heard. However giving the album a chance, this has as many mind altering beats, basslines and sounds as any trip-hop album Ive heard in the past. Inhaler, wardrobe, barabas, cinderella and saranji are all trip-hop classics. Barabas could have benefited by more vocal and bass interpolitions like what occurs when the bass kicks in. That track is spoiled by excluding that harmonic rythum created in that small piece of the song. But there is an all impressive mood involved in all the above mentioned tracks and it is well worth the effort for any trip-hop head.

Uma boa ideia pra conservar, mas que deixa o disco aberto a qualquer um no processo a abrir e enfiar os dedos no vinil. CONTUDO O MAIS IMPORTANTE É A PRENSAGEM E A FIDELIDADE. E que fidelidade.Pra quem conhece o Hooverphonic. É uma compra obrigatoria. Pra quem não conhece, esqueça muita coisa do Trip Hop e coloque esse disco nas suas prioridades.Não vou ficar babando ovo, mas se o cd ja tem qualidades indescritiveis, essa prensagem vai levar a audição a outros patamares.

One of the most underrated lp's of the trip hop era. This is supper a awesome. The one I got was a music on vinyl edition. I highly recommend this lp to any one who likes massive attack, portishead, tricky, the sneaker Pimps etc.
