Caring for an elderly parent now doubly incontinent - fortunately not all the time but often enough to get caught out- challenging, to say the least. These bed pad protectors came highly recommended by other carers who took the trouble to answer my questions via the Amazon platform - and are a boon. They are reasonably priced and catch the worst of it so your bed and mattress doesn't have to. In fact one of them stood the test of (I apologise if I offend sensibilities) of a horrible bout of loose faecal incontinence, protecting the bedding beneath, the mattress, and the side of the bed because the 'tucks' also caught the worst of it. They are also washable but ... I couldn't face it. I have to admit I took one look, donned plastic apron, gloves , mask and just bagged the cover; reordered more, rather than soak and wash it for reuse. My mum's nightie went the same way. It was too much but if the cover hadn't been in place the mattress would have been utterly soiled and likely the divan bed frame too. Invest in some. And some more! My only reservation is they are not the most comfortable things to sleep on because they arrive folded and , even after ironing carefully, through an extra layer (a bath towel or such like to safeguard the protective properties) the 'fold lines' remain and tend to ridge in the same place. Get that sorted and you'll be better able to cope with those Princess and the 'Pee' or Poo moments. Joys of caring, eh?

Purchased these as family member had a big surgery for cancer and was going to be bedridden for some time after, which obviously meant accidents may happen. Found these to be both affordable, easy to fit, comfortable (don't notice them when fitted), catches any leaks, does not move or slip when fitted, excellent quality and easy to use.

After several years of caring for a disabled teenager with night time Incontinence issues, I have finally found a product that works! We have previously spent a fortune on sheets which claim to be fully waterproof only to find that they stop nothing more than a slight spill from getting through. Then I discovered these mats, and I have termed them ‘magic mats!’ Not only do they prevent any leaks whatsoever from getting through to the mattress below, amazingly they also appear to make any liquids vanish without trace! The top sheets are dry, and the mats themselves also remain dry - any liquid seems to be locked away somewhere so that I can finally relax in the knowledge that my son is comfortable as he sleeps. The next day I simply wash and replace his top sheet. I will of course wash the mats on a regular basis, but there is no daily urgency because they do not need it, which of course will preserve their ‘life’ too. Any parent of a disabled child will understand what a relief it is to find a product that takes away some of the strain of daily life, and these mats rank amongst one of the best things I have ever purchased.
