Sockwell Men's Elevation Firm Graduated Compression Sock

These are truly great compression socks, and they really do work as advertised. My normal shoe size is M 10.5, so based on other reviews I got the M/L pair, and I'm very glad I did. They are only slightly difficult to get on, but once they are they provide a perfect "medium-firm" level of compression. They aren't uncomfortable whatsoever, they're extremely soft (if you've ever worn Darn Tough socks they feel identical thanks to the merino wool), and my puppies don't sweat in them much at all. The only con with these is that they're pricey, but honestly I think they're worth it. The difference is night-and-day between these and the budget pairs of compression socks on Amazon: these are softer, thicker, stay in place the entire day, don't cause any sweating, but most importantly they actually provide the advertised 20-30mmhg pressure. I'd rather pay a premium for a pair of these socks that work correctly, versus only spending a fraction of the price on ones that don't provide any benefits and risk tearing after only a few wears. Especially since these are intended to alleviate physical pain, which is one of the few products categories that I'm willing to spend a premium on. So all of that being said, I emphatically recommend these if budget isn't a concern. They work remarkably well and provide a ton of relief for my always-sore runner legs.

I currently suffer from plantar fasciitis and a vascular swelling issue. My current vascular doctor recommended trying this brand and says it is what he wears all the time. I've had issues with other brands because my foot size and calf size does not match industry standards that you see on most packaging. I have extra large calves. I have only worn these Sockwells a few times and amazingly they do reduce the pain in my foot. They also seem to retain their shape so far. The only drawbacks so far for me is that they are a challenge to get on and the price. But as I said, my XL calves don't help. As far as the price goes, if they last as long as some other reviewers post then maybe they are worth the price.

Sockwell 20-30mmhg is a bit of a mystery for me. These are not 20-30mmhg compression so if you’re looking for a sock to replace the hose your doctor gave you these are not it. The luring aspect is the wool over full nylon which lets your foot breathe and would be a lot more comfortable in summer. However if you need compression for better circulation or support for injury recovery, look elsewhere. Sizing is a bit of a conundrum… the large is 10.5-13 and the medium 7-10. I’m a 10.5 and the large did nothing, it fits like an ordinary sock. I recently bought a medium and was worried it would be too tight and possibly cut off circulation, but it fits only snug, there is no support at all. It’s just a lightly snug fitting sock. I think Sockwell needs to incorporate more spandex threading to create more compression but their selling point is breathability so if they do that, the socks won’t be as breathable. In terms of quality, I can’t comment since I’ve only had them a month. Out of the three that I bought, one was a mistake, I was clicking through the 20-30mmhg different colors and choose a khaki one which was 15-20mmhg but I didn’t realize it. So double check that you have what you need when changing colors! The two 20-30mmhg are Elevation’s, the medium material feels thinner. It’s not that it’s stretched because the medium literally fits perfectly. The large heel is 4” above my heel. If you need a tighter sock for daily support that might increase circulation, possibly Sockwell could work but you will have to try a few sizes. If you need a compression sock for post surgery, sprain or fracture recovery, rehab etc. Sockwell isn’t what you need.

One of the side effects of chemotherapy is neuropathy in your feet. This is a numbness or tingling, needle-like feeling, especially in the toes. Wearing regular compression socks exacerbates that feeling by squeezing your toes together to the point it feels like they're in a vise. These graduated compression socks solve that problem. The toe area of the sock fits like normal everyday socks, loose enough to allow freedom of movement, while the akle and upper portions retain the compression you're looking for. Granted, $33 for a pair of socks seems excessive, and it is, but they appear to be very well made and should last a long time while alleviating the pain in your toes that other compression socks submit you to.

Material felt great, I liked the compression. However, although not specifically listed, these socks likely contain latex. So anyone with a latex sensitivity or allergy should avoid. I had a reaction to the socks after one hour of wear.

I didn't realize the firmness was 20-30mmHg and not the 15-20mmHg but they are definitely easier to put on and take off compared to other brands. No skin irritation after 14hrs and my feet stayed dry. Your legs and feet are what get you around so treat them with love and care and they'll treat you well in return. So if you need compression socks, this brand will do well by you. I did some brand research before buying these and they are highly recommended. I understand why and you'll be happy if you buy them too

I was surprised that these fit as well as they do, given how hard it is to find compression socks that fit a larger leg well and offer the right level of support. I was looking for something warmer, more casual than the nylon ones I usually wear to work. I have a large foot --size 10.5M mens--and my calf is both long (17 inches) and wide (18.5 inches). These are a bit hard to put on the first time, and I was worried they wouldn't cover the full length of my calf, but they did with some effort. I assume they will loosen up a little bit after a couple of wearings. They feel supportive, but after a couple hours they are still comfortable at the top band. Nice quality, especially for the price. I don't think they would fit someone with an XL foot, or really wide calves, but they work for my parameters. I purchased three pairs, in three different colors, and may get a couple more pairs. They seem better for cooler weather, given the bamboo and merino content, and are medium weight.
