Excellent Design by Quintin Middleton, Some Rough Edges
This 'Brew-Shucker' knife (and its sister design the 'Kraken') are of excellent design, and solidly put together, using thick steel and quality thermoplastic grips. However, it is a machine-made, mass-produced knife (not a hand-crafted one), and it has some rough edges - quite literally. The grip area is well-polished, but there are sharp edges on the finger guard and all along the exposed metal - in some places these are sharper than the cutting edges! It would be a very good idea to file these areas down before using the knife on slippery seafood.PLEASE NOTE: This knife is NOT a Ken Onion design. This 'Brew-Shucker' knife (and the 'Kraken') were designed by custom knifemaker Quintin Middleton [MiddletonMadeKnives-dot-com] and commercially manufactured. There may be some confusion as these knives are also marketed through a website licensed by Ken Onion and bearing his name. I hope this info will help clear things up.

Not worth the price and questionable use of Ken Onion's name with this product.
We did not like this oyster knife at all. Small in your hands and poor quality workmanship. Do not understand why Ken Onion would allow his name to be associated with such poor quality product. We ended up returning it, just not worth the money for such poor quality product.

Good product, fit and finish not great.
This is a decent design and works well, however the fit and finish are questionable. Mine came with the handles de laminating prior to opening the package.

Handy tool for Oyster Fest
has a good feel and I liked the stiffness of the blade. Easily popped open oysters and I love the handy bottle opener for the cold ones along with the oysters. I also bought the Companion Ken Onion Kracken which has worked well.

Most comfortable oyster shucking ever
Most comfortable oyster shucking ever! Most oyster knives feel awkward but the brewshucker makes opening oysters enjoyable and much easier. Would highly recommended.

Super dull tip, tiny handle.
Grip is tiny and unfortunate. I will grind my point to maximize shucking as I go.
