211.5 Orange Whistle

Train your dog to come with this whistle... every time.
Train your dog correctly with this whistle and you will never have to worry about your dog coming when you call. This whistle is small and produces a perfect-pitch tone that is not affected by your mood, attitude or frustrations with your dog. This whistle will help you command your dog and get them to come on first call. Yes, it really works like that!.... here is how I trained my dog with this 211.5 whistle: Start with a HUGE portion of lunch meat in your hand. Let your dog play in your fenced yard and let him or her get distracted, so they are not looking at you. Now, figure out a pattern tone to use and use it every time for the "Come" command.... (I use two short blasts) EVERY time you whistle, and they come, they get a HUGE helping of this very high value lunch meat treat. (NOT KIBBLE, NOT DOG TREATS) this must be a very high value treat... chicken, beef, port, whatever they CRAVE the most. Always reward them with this treat EVERY time they come. (so it takes a bit of preparation for training). Within two days (5 - 6 initial calls and rewards) I was able to recall my dog from 100 yards away, even with other dogs and distractions present. I then, slowly, started reducing the size and value of the treats. Now she comes with the whistle and only expects a bit of lovin'.... but every once in a while I surprise the heck out of her with a HUGE pile of lunchmeat in my hand. I keep her wondering if "THIS" time is the time with another high value reward like chicken or beet. This is not the only training method to use for this, but it worked for me. I keep two of these whistles with me at all times... one on a lanyard, one on my key chain. It's all you will need to command your dog. I highly recommend it.

NOT a dog whistle. It's a regular whistle.
As for being a regular whistle - 5 Stars. For being a dog whistle, you can hear it. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but the point to a dog whistle is only dogs can hear it. Again, as a whistle - it is well made and very loud, which is why I have to return it. I don't want to disturb my neighbors. They would definitely hear me blowing this whistle during training sessions.

Great whistle
The acme 211.5 is an excellent choice of whistle.I have used the same brand and style for over a decade and have not been disappointed. A single whistle lasts around 5-7 years with daily use.Being made from plastic makes it easy to clean and keep maintained. I’ve have put muddy / swamp dropped one in the dish washer to clean it up with no issues in performance. It has a nice lower tone / sound that doesn’t leave you with a migraine at the end of the day.Not only do I and my team members use this whistle, I recommend it for my clients as well.Individuals complaining that it is not silent and leaving 1 star reviews over this would do well to pay attention to what they are actually purchasing.

If you go onto the Acme website, you can ...
If you go onto the Acme website, you can hear a sample of all their whistles. The 211.5 is a popular whistle for gundog training. It isn't as loud as some of the other whistles available, but it is loud enough for my dog.

Great whistle
This is a great whistle and tone for my hound. Perfect for a training aid outdoors. There are plenty of videos out there how to use a whistle for training. This is not something to make your or your neighbor's dog from barking. For training not discipline.

It's a whistle..... and it's ...
It's a whistle.....and it's loud. We use it to call our dog home. He likes to wander the neighborhood. He goes a block and a half sometimes and he hears this thing just fine

Works like a charm!
My stubborn Corgi took no time learning about the whistle. He'd been jumping more and barking more when guests entered or exited. It didn't take him not even a week to correct his behavior--and that was with me just giving very quick short blasts. Best $7 I've spent in a while!!!

Great! Buy a BRIGHT color and a LANYARD though.
Works as advertised, however I wish I had purchased a bright color. I had the whistle in my "treats bag" and started running with my dog, The whistle fell out at some point and it took me a while to trace my steps and find it. Had it been a bright orange or yellow, it would have been much easier to find. The whistle is loud and with proper training, dog responds to call. I suggest putting the whistle on a lanyard.

Great for Labradors
My 2, 12 week old Labrador pups respond to this 211.5 whistle straight away with training. Initially had used 210.5 which is softer, they didn’t respond as well to this, my spaniels did no problem. The 211.5 seems louder so recall over distance should be fine. It’s about making a consistent sound which your dogs will respond to.

Good quality whistle
Got this after listening to the different pitches on their website to see which my dog responded to best. After a few training sessions he is recalling with ease over much greater distances than just voice. Quality seems good, it’s been through the washing machine and still works.

Simple and easy to use and had an excellent range.
Our dog responds well to this whistle. (Have purchased two, both have identical tone - as they should.) Dog has been trained to 'stop' and for 'recall' using two different whistle patterns. I had tried ultrasonic whistles, but not a fan. As you cant hear the whistle you cant tell if its working correctly and on the adjustable tone ones I tried the adjuster kept working loose so the tone changed. The dog did not know if it was his whistle call or not. Stick to one of these, they simply work.

Excellent and Does Not Hurt The Ears
I bought this because of the colour making it easy to spot. I was a bit concerned about how high pitched it sounded from the reviews I read but really wanted this colour. This is higher pitched than I needed or wanted it's true, but the beauty of it is that it is so smooth and constant a sound that it does not hurt my ears (important as I had tinnitus for years and that got better). The tiny tin whistle I had before was 'reedy' and shrill, not constant, whereas this is none of those things. I am delighted with it, and the dog comes running when he hears it. I taught him the sound at home so he would associate it with happiness and security. I think Acme should make the orange one in a lower pitch, but it's a great whistle.

brilliant whistle
Calling a whistle brilliant does sound a little over the top but I have had great success training my dogs to this whistle so I buy them in multiples so I have one in most of my jackets and coats. I cannot whistle loudly enough myself and these whistles bring my dog back to me if I let him have his head and go to greet other dogs or if he goes too close to any percieved trouble. Obviously the dog has to trained to the whistle but having said that I have had other dogs come to me when I use it lol
