Q: I have mine on intermittent and there is water in it - yet it shut off after 30 minutes. How can I get it to keep going all day?

Change it to small abs it will last 4hrs it doesn’t last all day

Q: Does it come with the essential oils

No they do not. There is a code that comes with the diffuser saying if you give them a review on amazon they will send you 5 free oils. Filled out the review months ago and oils still have not showed up.

Q: What is "timing" button supposed to do on the remote?

I don't know about a timing button on this model because it was a gift, but mines (which is similar shuts off automatically after a few hours. I usually use it before I go to bed and it's off when I wake in the morning.
