Hearth Stone (Home In The Hills) Paperback – February 24, 2015

I was disappointed with this book. I read all three Hope Springs books and thoroughly enjoyed them. The characters all had to struggle against difficulties and succeeded admirably. There were also beautiful descriptions of the countryside, which I especially enjoyed, being from South Dakota. However, in this one the characters seemed shallow, the plot is not as interesting, and the descriptions of the land are not impressive. Why in heaven's name does she have her character Hunter sound like someone from a not very convincing historical novel? No one in South Dakota talks like that, and I don't think they ever did!

This book has some of the people from the authors other 3 books Finding Home, Hope Fires, and Finally Home. If you liked the other 3 books you will like this one too. It's a love story between Sydney and Hunter. Sydney buys a run down ranch & with Hunters help she tries turning the ranch into a new horse training camp. She also learns that she has a sister that has also helped her rebuild her ranch. This is a good book. I kept wanting to know what was going to happen as I was reading the book so I had trouble putting it done at times.

This book was boring and predictable. You could tell from the very beginning what would happen, like you had a crystal ball. It was difficult to care about any of the characters.

Wow. Loved Sydney and "Hunk". Loved Lily and Tonk. Lots of emotion and angst and joy was felt reading this book. I've only come across a handful of really memorable books in the 3-4 years that I've had my Kindle and I'm a voracious reader. This is one of the best .

Nice story. Easy read. I liked the struggle for independence from her father and the love and acceptance she found from the people around her.

Good.

A good beginning to a series.

Loved this book cant wait for the next one
