I love the brand and have purchased it several times. I use it to make my hair and skin products. Very soft, moisturizing and creamy on the skin. Very easy to use and like that it comes individually wrapped in the one pound packages. Great for storage. Highly recommend and will continue to purchase.

This made a great base for my homemade body butter. It came packaged in 2 bags and weighed just over 3 lbs. I bought this because it was the best value with overall good reviews. This will make a lot of body butters and lotions. It is a nice ivory color with the typical earthy shea butter smell. After I whipped my body butter it was a nice white color that looked similar to Nivea body cream. Mine was pure and it didn't have any dirt, shells or other bits in it like some other users experienced. I will use it to make my face moisturizer for acne prone skin as well. I definitely recommend this product and will purchase it again.Here is my body butter recipe if anyone is interested. I'm including links to the products I used.1/2 cup shea butter1/4 cup raw, unrefined coconut oil Carrington Farms Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, 54 Ounce1/4 cup sweet almond oil (or another oil of your choice) NOW solutions Sweet Almond Oil, Moisturizing Oil, 16 ounce10-15 drops essential oil of your choice if you want it scented (I used lemon) Now Foods Lemon Oil, 1 OunceMake sure all your utensils and containers are clean and sanitized. I wash mine in hot, soapy water, rinse and then spray with 91% rubbing alcohol and let them air dry or dry with a paper towel if you're in a hurry.Melt the shea, coconut and almond oil in a double boiler over low heat or in a glass bowl in the microwave on 50% power.Stir occasionally to combine.Set bowl in the fridge or freezer until the edges (at least 1 inch or so around) have solidified. If it is mostly solidified, that's ok as long as you can still easily stick your finger in it. Make sure it isn't too runny or it won't whip up.Add your essential oil if you're using any.Whip with a hand mixer or in a kitchen aid for 3-4 minutes until it is a whipped cream like consistency.Scrape into clean, sanitized jars and store at room temperature out of direct sunlight. That doesn't mean it's bad, but I have to do more work to make my products. I have to melt the butter (Double Broiler Method), place it in the refrigerator to cool and harden, then whip it. I would really like to understand what is causing the grainy texture and would love for Smell Good to make it right. I needed an all-natural Shea Butter to use for my Hair and Skin product line. I was very pleased with the fast shipping of my order and even more pleased with the quality of the product. The Shea Butter is soft and easy to work with. It blends well with other essential oils I use. My products have a nice, even, creamy texture that I just couldn't obtain using other brands of Raw Shea. Other brands required me to use mass amounts of essential oils to try to obtain the texture I get with this Shea and it never really hit the mark. With this Shea, I use very minimal amounts of essential oils to obtain the creamy texture I desire for my products. This Shea is very easy to apply to your hair and skin. Your hair isn’t weighed down; but instead, full of body and life. The natural smell of Shea butter can be a bit offensive for some, though the aroma vanishes once it has been applied to your skin within minutes. You can also try using all natural oils such as Peppermint, Lemon, Etc. to hold it at bay. The folks at Smell Good are also very professional. I contacted them once because my package took longer than usual to arrive. Within 1 business day, Smell Good resolved the matter by contacting my local post office and obtaining the information I needed to pick up my package. Another time I noticed a gritty texture and thought Smell Good had sent me a bad batch of Shea. I was upset because I had to refund one of my customers because they claimed they found salt in the product. I immediately contacted Smell Good and complained. While I awaited a response, I researched and found hundreds of blogs on this issue. I found that in warmer climates or during periods of high temperatures the product may become grainy. Smell Good replied with the same information and eased my mind. In my profession it is very important to have a quality product but it is equally important to do business with a professional company. I appreciate Smell Good for providing both.

Great quality item.

This is my first time buying shea butter so I have nothing to compare it to, but the quality appears to be great. I tested it right out the bag and it's smooth and melts easily when rubbed into the skin. The scent is mild, can't really place it...earthy maybe? It's not unpleasant. The color is an off white/light grey. I've come across no pieces of dirt, shells, twigs, etc. as of yet. I even broke it into chunks and so far nada. I'm really happy I don't have to filter it because I read that you can lose some of the beneficial properties through the heating and refining process. I can already tell my skin and cracked heels are going to love this stuff. Haven't tried it on my hair yet (transitioning 4a) but I have some recipes lined up to try ASAP.My only gripe is that it weighed about one oz under 3 lbs. Otherwise I would have given it a 5*. A tad worried that this is the standard for this company (I saw a couple reviews complaining of being shorted as well). Hopefully these instances are the exceptions and not the rule as that would be extremely discouraging. I don't think I could support a company that would follow such a business model. On another note, I would be careful buying during the warmer months because they do ship it in plastic bags secured by a plastic tape band...not the most secure method with a product that changes viscosity according to temperature.

Si es muy hidratante, se necesita muy poquita cantidad, en mi caso estoy embarazada y lo aplico solo en mi panza y espalda, pero necesito muy poca cantidad, no se cuantos años vaya a necesitar para acabarme esta cantidad tan grande, lo que si es que el olor no es agradable, en mi caso a veces aplico otros aceites para intentar camuflar el olor, puede ser que lo sienta más fuerte por el embarazo, pero en general muy buen producto, no necesito calentarlo, tomo un poco con la cuchara, lo pongo en mi mano y floto un poco y listo!

Impresionada con la calidad en verdad pague muy poco por las 5 lb $464 pesos mexicanos para ser exacta creo que estaba en promocion segun la publicacion deben ser 2.270 kg y recibi 2.291 kg he comprado shea butter cruda amarilla de solilio anteriormente en bote y no se parece a la calidad de esta que adquiri esta es suave cremosa increiblemente hidratante estoy muy feliz con mi compra el color es amarillo dorado hermoso el olor es riquisimo es un poco fuerte a nuez pero me encanta!
