Ex. 2.5% of a 0 to 30 Amp scale meter is 0.75 amps (0.025 x 30.) So, the needle could be either too high by 0.75 amps or too low by 0.75 amps. Some of the other answers, I hope, are meant to be humorous. **Q: What is the polarity of the back connectors? Looking at the back of the meter - does the current flow Left to Right?** A: Hi Myke,My experience with several of these type meters is that with the meter upright, and looking at the back, there is typically a "-" sign molded in the plastic of the case near the right side connector. Of about ten of these of various amperages, I did have one where this side turned out to be the "positive" post. I suggest passing a small current through the meter to verify polarity. If deflection is in the wrong direction, just swap connections. These meters will tolerate some reverse current without trouble. I am very happy with mine and have more coming. The built-in Ammeter failed years ago. My father-in-law bought it for me in 1978. The charger still works.I was able to trim the front panel hole a little bigger to fit this ammeter. It works perfectly. I compared it to my DMM ammeter and it was within 0.25 amps. Works great. I'd buy another if I ever need it.
