Woodwick Candle, Stone Washed Suede, L

Bought as a present for my grandson. I needed a nice manly scent.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this scented candle, but a quick sniff and I was transported to many an open fireside where the scent of smoking wood filled the room (I hasten to add, not the smoke itself). For me, it is very reminiscent of holidays where I lit an open fire every evening (even during the summer months, as it is the UK after all), with a sweet, fresh foliage tone thrown in for good measure.The candle comes with a special wick that creates the subtle sound effects of a crackling fire, which is highly pertinent with this particular scent. The scent fills the room and definitely makes for a good impression as soon as you enter, but it is sufficiently strong that you can smell it whilst you remain in the room, unlike some where the scent attenuates over time. There are three different scent layers so you will get a differing sensation as the burn progresses.For the best burning experience, it is suggested that you burn the candle for 3-4 hours per use as that will help to even out the melt and produce the longest use possible without leaving half of the wax stuck up the sides of the jar. The wick should also be trimmed to 1/8 inch before each use: removing burnt pieces with fingertips is the suggested method.This is a good candle that comes in a well designed box that cushions it for the delivery process. Note there is nothing on the box exterior to alert as to contents, so it will be great for gifting, whether to self or to others, including as a secret Santa or (large) stocking filler.

Smells fantastic

I've had some quite disappointing Woodwick candles recently to be honest (see other reviews) so thought I'd give them one last chance and try one of their 'fresh off the shelves' new ones and went with this one.On taking the lid off and smelling cold it did smell very faintly of suede, veeeery faintly, so my hopes weren't high to be honest as I do like a scented candle to have some scent throw.Having said all this I'm happy to report that the scent throw of this candle is pretty good. Plus it actually does smell exactly like Suede. Not leather or some cheap poly-nylon mix (whatever that smells of) but genuine suede.It's not an overpowering smell, it wont cover the wafts of a wet dog for example, it does fill the whole room and gives a nice ambience to a reasonably sized room. You won't think you've moved into a show shop of anything but overall I'm impressed with this one. The 'crackle' is there but not over loud, it's looks nice and burns well.I guess it's unisex but its quite a masculine candle (a 'Mancle'?) and would make a nice gift in one those trendy loft apartment type places (the sort of place you see in adverts full of successful people with illuminious white teeth). It's the opposite to where I live. Above a kebab shop. Living the dream.

Bought this has one of my partners Xmas presents, he didn't know he was getting it, so he was pleasantly surprised when he opened it. He really likes these candles, and was very pleased with it.

Fantastic product. Burns with a gentle comforting crackle giving off a lovely aroma that lingers. Length of burn is not as long as the taller version because the wick is along the length of the candle so burns more. However the visual image is lovely and relaxing.

I absolutely love this candle and I will definitely buy it again.The fire crackling sound is the bonus feature which just makes this candle Awesome!Great product
