South Park: Season 12

I used to watch this particular season in Sixth grade. It was a great moment back when South Park Digital Studios had EVERY episode for free and I could just sneak onto my Grammas computer anytime with low audio at 2 AM or so. That was a HUGE part of my childhood.

Daughter loved it. None of the discs skipped.

South Park is one of my most favorite shows! It was one that pushed everyone’s buttons and touched on several issues throughout the years and fast became in pace with the Simpsons. Trey Parker and Matt Stone created such an incredible series that I own every season that’s out so far. This adult themed animation series is worth every penny to snag complete seasons from Amazon even if you buy for streaming purposes. My reviews for every season I have purchased from Amazon will be the same. I’m including images from each seasons disc as the differences. Amazon does have excellent prices on the seasons compared to other retailers

Bluray is worth the upgrade if your a series fan and you own a HDTV. However, I must admit that I am surprised the 14 episodes continue to stretch over 3 discs. The high definition switch is noticeably better in overall image quality and the menu's are much more convenient. This could be somewhat of a coincidence with the shows switch to a HD broadcast. If you are a big time SP fan and know you will watch this on multiple occasions, on a HDTV, the Bluray is for you. I would imagine the DVD will be just as satisfying for the average fan.I would like to see the previous seasons re-released on Bluray only if they could minimize the disc's to 1 per season. (I don't see how this wouldn't be possible with a SD source on a disc with BD's size capabilities.)

It's easy to write satire. It's difficult to write funny satire. Disc 1 with 5 episodes was not particularly funny. There was satire (Canada on strike spoofing the Writer's strike), social commentary (the role of the paparazzi in chasing stories of train wreck celebs, like Britney), but nothing that was laugh inducing. Perhaps the issues were just sad and sometimes stupidity just makes one angry.It's not til disk two that I begin to find myself smiling and occasionally chuckling over scenes/dialogs in "Super Phun Thyme" and "The Breast Cancer Show Ever".Then disc 3 with Pandemic I & II about Peruvian pan flute bands and their links to giant destructive Guinea Pigs, the aftermath of the Presidential election amd why Obama and McCain really wants to get into the White House manages to come together for some laugh out loud comedy. The last two episodes skewers the fads of "High School Musical 3", and "Twilight" while at the same time making some pointed observation about society, fitting in, finding an identity, and holding on to one's identity.Cartman and Butters are an incredibly powerful comedy team with the eternally cynical, selfish, and self-centred Cartman matched with the insecure, anxious-to-please, perpetually innocent and naive Butters, and the "Super Phun Thyme" episode was particularly funny because of these two characters and the way Butters stood by his principles.Of course anytime Cartman gets his just desserts is an episode worth watching ("The Breast Cancer Shpw Ever").Pandemic I/II was funny for it's self-commentary as provided by Craig.Season 10 is still my all-time favourite, but season 12 is an improvement over season 11 which may have suffered for following an excellent season in 10.

Simpson's and other show's have nothing on South Park! They hit every current situation spot on, with the best comedy ever! The character's rule! You must complete the whole series! You will be rolling with tears laughing, if you have humor and understand current events!
