Karaoke Cam Music Video Maker

I bought this for my 4 year old SON for christmas 04, yes my husband was a little leary of the pink but what fun my 4 and six year old sons have had with it they love to hook it up and watch themselves dance and sing sometimes recording sometimes not we play the cd player in the background instead of the plug in cartridges so they can hear what they want... I think it is a great toy for a boy or a girl, and what a great price!!!

I bought this for my six year old daughter for Christmas. We played with it for about 3 hours total before the microphone broke. At first, I was sure it must be the batteries but changed those and it still didn't work. We unscrewed the mic cover and found that two little wires were not saudered where they were supposed to be. I am VERY disappointed and will be exchanging this in hopes that it was just a rare problem that won't happen again.

We have twin daughters who love to sing into their tape player/microphone combo and absolutely adore watching themselves on video, so we thought this would be a great idea for them. Overall, it is a good toy...it's not a $200 karaoke machine, but it basically does what we bought it to do. A couple of comments (some relating to other reviews):1. When we first set it up, we did have the problem with interference from our baby monitor, but changing the channel on the monitor cleared that right up.2. As with another reviewer, we have problems with our microphone. I haven't opened the mic up, yet, but it seems that unless you hold it at the very top of the handle, it won't transmit. The weirdest part is that it only works consistantly when I hold it or if I'm near it. Very frustrating. We'll be calling the company for assistance with this problem. (However, the option of plugging in two mics is a great feature that we'll take advantage of later.)3. The lighting issue isn't really a problem for us, and although the video quality isn't exactly crystal clear, it was much better than I expected.4. Where you put the cam does make a difference. Although the camera can be turned in a fairly wide arc, it doesn't point down very far. I order for shorter kids to be seen, you'll need to have them farther back from the TV, angle the machine to point downward or place it closer to the floor.

I got this toy for my daughter's 5th birthday (November '04). She loves being a "star" with Mom, Dad, & brother as backup! When we first opened it, we sang & recorded the whole Cheetah girls CD. That's right, you can use regular CDs or the radio for that matter so your not obligated to buy any of the cartridges made for this (which are hard to find & most of the songs we don't know anyway). Now when she has sleep overs, it keeps her and her company entertained all night. The only problem I have with this toy is the mic. It's not as loud as it should be. But you can turn the music down a couple of notches wich helps a little. Do keep in mind that it is a toy and not as high-tech as some may think. I got it at a great price (1/2 off what the stores wanted) and it was worth it. I think it's a great gift for any "little Diva"!

I just purchased the Barbie Karaoke Cam Music Video Maker which is the same exact machine EXCEPT it has the Barbie logo on it. We have not opened it yet because it is for Christmas. I hope to have as much fun as you all have had. Also, I purchased this system for $19.88 NEW from Big Lots.

We thought this was the perfect gift for our five year-old. Just like the other writer, our child loves to sing, dance, and watch herself in the mirror. This had everything she liked. However, when we got it we opened it up to try it out, the interference from our neighbor's babymonitor was louder then themicrophone. What's the point if you can't hear yourself. This is what it advertises to be; a Barbie toy karaoke machine, nothing more.

My daughter likes this toy! it's alot of fun.Me and my husband found our selves playing with it.It only comes with one sing a long cartridge(which includes six songs)but so what because it hooks up to the cd player.You might not have all the words written down to follow but that just makes it more fun to see how funny it is when you screw up.it is just for fun.This is not an adult product so you can't expect so much for a kid price.I like the special effect lens and the fact you can make it echo.I do how ever think the picture could come a little clearer and I think there should be an option to plug in the mike so you don't have to keep changing the batteries.you can't sing a long with out the mike because theres no sound only music from the cartridge but the plus is there is an extra socket for a mike so another cutie pie singer can join in.

i read all the reviews and was in the middle.my 3 year old LOVES it.(take in to consideration she's 3)i paid $29.99 at Big lots,also new.i wouldnt however pay the $90 or $60. it really is limited for that price.for her though,its perfect.she loves seeing herself.A++
