Toujours, the first solo record from Brazilian Girls cofounder, Sabina updates the classic ye-ye music that was exploding in France, Italy and Spain in the early 60’s. Imagine Nico and Serge Gainsbourg having cocktails. As matter of fact when asked about Toujours, Sabina says, “I want to bring people together, make them mingle, dance, sing and discuss, that’s what life really is.†The New York Times says it’s, “Hard to imagine a better poster girl for polyglot New York pop†and Rolling Stone calls Sabina simply, “glamorous.â€

Quirky, Sensual, Hip
Sabina does channel Niko with some of the vocals, but there is quite a variety here: poetry with good rhythms. Positive vibe. Clarity and love is a nice change from the stupidity and oblivion produced by many "artists" today.

Super Album
I love this album. It puts me in a good mood. So smart and artistic. Sabina has a beautiful voice. Great musicianship. In a sane world, Sabina would be a star.

Lovin' It
CD arrived in good shape and timely, and it's a 'fun' CD which is to be expected from the lead singer of The Brazilian Girls! I really enjoy it, as much as I enjoyed BG's. Sabina is so talented..She's got a style all her own.

Long Time Fan...
her vocal style and intertwining of language is as beautiful and flawless as ever. Although there are some danceable moment this album is a bit more subdues. Still worth a listen.

Should have listened b 4 buying.
My purchase was influenced by a Herald Tribune (Tampa) review.I'm complete unaware of this artist or the original band she played with.My mistake in assuming there would be a Brazilian (the country) sound/rhythm to her work.Just not my style of music.

Nico 2.0
Die deutsch/italienische Sängerin der New Yorker Band "Brazilian Girls" titelt französisch - klingt und singt in all diesen Sprachen.Velvet Underground scheint durch, Stimmlage Nico Päffgen. Ein Schuss Feelies, gewürzt mit Electro, Bläsern, Rückwärtsgitarren und folkigen Wendungen.Tres New York!Schade, dass diesem Album von 2014 nicht mehr Aufmerksamkeit zuteil wurde.Aber auch schön: Kleine überraschende Perlen wie diese bereichern jede Plattensammlung.
