after two weeks of use it does not close properly and have to press hard to join the hot plates (i did not drop it or anything). it also gets hot outside...im not very happy

After only 2 months of using it, it automatically turns off when set to 360 - 400. Shame. Can this be returned for warranty?

This flat iron comes in a very nice box with magnetic closing lid, perfect for a gift and the flat iron looks and feels very well made and professional.This is the best flat iron I've ever owned, it doesn't pull or snag my hair when I curl or straighten it. My hair is sleek, shiny & soft after I'm done, not dry & brittle like it looks after using a cheap store brand.I really like the fact that the cord is extra long & it swivels so it doesn't get all twisted up when using it to curl my hair. It also comes with a velcro strap to keep the cord neatly wrapped up when not in use.It has a digital thermometer that starts off at 210 degrees and increases in increments of 10 degrees (not 5 like the insert says) up to 450 degrees, it heats up super quick, always use a heat protectant on your hair to avoid damage.If your hair is fine,color treated or damaged you should set the temperature around 300 - 350 degrees, higher if you have coarse hair.The 450 degree setting is only really used for doing keratin treatments and shouldn't be used for everyday straightening and curling.The only problem I have with this flat iron is the location of the on/off button, I'm constantly hitting it & turning it off when curling my hair.The description on Amazon says this is a Wet/Dry Iron but in the directions that come with this iron says NOT to use it on wet hair.I ordered the purple one and received a box with a purple flat iron picture but the flat iron inside is pinkThis product was provided at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review.

I recived this product at a discount in order for an honest review. And honestly had I not gotten a discount on this product I would have been more upset. When I first used the straigtner it was working great but then it kept shutting off after every few minutes, I tried a different outlet and it still would not stay on. I am sure this is a great pruduct due to all of the other positive reviews, I just recieved a faulty one.I am however still giving it a decent rating because when it was working it worked great. It didn't leave my hair as staticy as other cheaper ones do, it looked very nice.All in all I am still going to return this item and hopefully get one that isn't faulty

I already have a straightener, a chi that was about $120, at least. I've had it for about 6 years now and I need a change, plus this one is pink so it's a no brainer. My hair is long and thick, so I wanted a straightener with bigger plates, which is why I got this one.My experience with straighteners is such that although I'm really not one for buying expensive beauty products, I've found that the more expensive, the better they work, but the thinner the plate. When I opened this, the plates were actually much smaller than I expected, however, that's not the sellers fault, it's my fault for not reading the size which is clearly mentioned in the description lolI first tried this at the 350* setting and literally saw nothing different. My initial thought was "should've known"....now my chi doesn't have a temp option, it has two settings, hot and off lol so I have no idea what temp I'm working with....so I upped the temp on this to 450* (highest setting) and had someone else been doing my hair for me and I had my eyes closed, I would have thought they used my $120 chi. Only difference was this straightener worked faster, bc it is slightly larger than the one I already had.Having read the comments before trying it, I was kind of nervous i was about to have hairs yanked out of my scalp, but to my pleasant surprise, not one hair had gotten caught, let alone yanked out...and again, my hair is very long, thick and frizzy, so it's not uncommon for my hair to get caught in straighteners, irons, brushes etc but not even one hair got caught in this tool so that was awesome!!He heated up very quickly too by the way. When I decided to bring it to its highest setting, i started using it immediately after raising the temp and literally within a minute, maybe even less, I began seeing the improvement....so it definitely increased its temperature super fast!!I'm also including photos with this review, bc right when it started to really work/straighten my hair, I looked to compare the side I worked on vs the side I hadn't used this on to see if it really does make my hair look shiny and I noticed that not only did it look shiny but it also caused my highlights and lowlights to become much more visible than before I used it, you'll see what I mean in the pictures.In all, I'd totally recommend this hair straightener to any and everyone looking to buy one. Works just as well as my chi, only it's much less expensive, hair does not get yanked out, you have temperature options (unlike my expensive straightener), though I needed it on the highest temp, you hair may not be as thick and frizzy as mine, so if you can get the same results using a little wee temp, it's nice to have that option to reduce damage to your hair, and this is an option my expensive straightener does not have. As others have mentioned, the cord is pretty hardcore lol it's very thick so it won't get all twisted up over time, which is cool. I also really like the magnetic box it came in, I plan on keeping it, decorating it with washi tape and using it to hold small items (essential oils perhaps) so that became an unexpected bonus to this purchase lol The only down side is the where the on/off and temperature buttons are located, I did turn it off and lower the temp while using it on accident a few times, but it's not unavoidable, you just need to be consciously aware of where you're holding it while you're using it and you should be fine. I recently bought one of those hair brushes that are supposed to straighten your hair as you brush it, and that had the same issue with the buttons, only it was completely unavailable so I only used it twice bc it was super irritating. Luckily, that is not the case with this product, but be mindful of where you place your hand and you'll be fine.I am forced to say I received this product at a discount in exchange for my HONEST AND UNBIASED review, which is exactly what this is, HONEST AND UNBIASED! I totally recommend this straightener. If you're looking to buy one, then get this, you'll love it, I promise!NOTE: in the second picture, I used the straightener on the hair on the right side of the pic on 450* and the hair on the left side of the picture I used with the temperature at 350*, those 100* produced a significant improvement.

I had never had a professional level flat iron before but after seeing what my stylists iron did I was wanting to give it a try.I actually looked at a lot of adds before I decided on trying this one and I am glad I did. It's exactly as advertised and I am loving the way it does its job. It makes my hair look so smooth.It is a very sturdy piece of equipment. Some of the features I really like are:The swiveling cord.The cord wrapper which has a velcro closure.The lock which will hold it shut when engaged is a nice safety idea.The ability to set the temperature on the iron precisely where you want it quickly.Quick heating time.The length of the heating plates is 3 and 3/4 in.I know this was designed for a pro ( but since I am not one)... I would have loved more precise operating instructions. Although they did include good cleaning instructions for the iron.All in all though, I am quite happy with my purchase and won't ever go back to non-pro flat irons. This company has earned my business I will look for their other products when I am in need!I was fortunate enough to receive a discount on my flat iron in return for a fair and honest review.
