Beautiful meditations

This book is a nice key for opening the door of scientific prayer! It took me 4 years of intense study to uncover the hidden model of true and effective prayer, but this book takes the the reader to heart of the secret. If you have ever wondered why your prayers are not been replied, then you definitely need this book.

The book is in great condition and I did not wait that long to get it.

A treasure for all times!! Love Yogananda! This is definitely his very best work!

Yogananda is a great spiritual guru, but sometime his writings seem outrageous. He describes this book as a gift delivered to him from God and ranks it with the Bible and the Bhagavad Gita! If you have read the "Autobiography of a Yogi" you are aware that Yogananda subscribes to the spiritual power of many occult practices that are on the cusp of tradition and superstition. This is a worthy book for the seeker of enlightenment through meditation, but its doctrine may challenge traditional western thought. When you meditate and pray to the "God within" Yogananda instructs you not to ask for what you seek but rather to "demand" it. Making demands of God seems arrogant. Authoring a book you rank with the Bible seems arrogant. It was difficult for me to reconcile these issues at first. Only through meditation and thoughtful consideration can such radical ideas be dissected and understood. This book is at least as controversial as both the Bible and the Bhagavad Gita. All of these controversies may be reconciled, but not always correctly. Ancient wisdom does not always translate well under modern intellectual scrutiny.

Excellent if one is involved in meditation,and prayers.Sri.Paramahansa has succeeded in making special prayerseasy.That is when it comes from the heart and soul.

An overview of an ancient faith that should be read over and over again.

The cover had greasy fingerprints on it, ordered replacement - again arrived with the cover damage. Returned it, as it was meant to be a gift. NOTE: This is not publish by Self Realization Fellowship, the ONLY organization Paramahansa Yogananda authorized to spread his teachings. It's published by Ananda society. Yes, the content might be the same, and most likely is, but as I have no time to check line by line, I'm going to order my copy from the SRF website.

I like his autobiography & although this is a snap shot of these ideas, thoughts & prayers-poems for life, for some strange reason its never melded with me. Still its a beauty & remains on my book shelf for the time being, maybe I need to evolve another few levels to be on a par with it?!

Un classico fra i classici di PY. Si tratta di lunghi pensieri, di una mezza pagina ciascuno, da usare come ausilio alla meditazione e alla preghiera. Sono completamente slegati l'uno dall'altro e fanno ampio uso di metafore, non si tratta dunque di un libro che raccoglie testi di conferenze su questioni religiose.La versione elettronica è ben curata.

Yogananda gave a huge spiritual gift to the whole of humanity. This book is a lucid summary of his gift of Kriya Yoga to humanity. This book is well worth reading to understand the ground that Yogananda paved the way for human consciousness awakening.

Written by a Master so would be a masterpiece. Mentions about all religions and explains how we are 1 family and all God's children.

I like Yogananda books . Got hooked when I read " Autobiography of a Yogi" and followed it up with the lovely " Yoga of Jesus " . This one is very subtle and suitable for someone who has already started heading for an advanced path . Still easy enough to read .... just don`t miss the important bits by rushing your reading.
