It had action, laughter on occasion and above all a very refreshing heroine. All the characters were very well formed and developed except for,unfortunately,our villain Aranthiel.Speaking of which,that should be a spoiler,since Aranthiel at first pretends to be a friend of Fer's but that not lasts for about two pages before Fer finds out who he really is.But WE don't. For one thing,Prineas kept hinting at the old,old age and "rotten core" that lay beneath Aaranthiel's surface. Which kept me eagerly waiting for the time when she'd reveal the whole backstory.but she never did,so...On to my favorite part of the book...Rook's puck-brothers.Awesomeness but not quite,exactly as I like them.And by the end of the book they haven't become Fer's best buddies or puck-bodyguards either, which is good.However,I'm still hoping for maybe a closer relationship between our Lady and the pucks,especially Tatter,who seemed to take more of a shine to her than the others.Now for Rook!! Okay..so I don't understand how the question of "are we friends or not" drags on till the end of the book and is STILL not resolved!Not only is it irritating but it puts us in an awkward position. Dies this mean that the conclusion of the trilogy will be "Rook and Fer have at last decided that they are friends." Or worse,will Prineas go all Collins on us and have Rook and Fer agree that it's not possible for them to be friends at all? Please,please don't let that happen.I have a few requests for book 3:1.please please please let Rook and Fer be friends at least-2.please give us an awesome villain3.please let us see phouka in person formAnd...4.pucks!give us more pucks!especially Tatter.Besides Rook he's my absolute favorite.Summerkin is not as tightly written as Winterling.
