How to Rebuild Honda B-Series Engines (S-A Design) Paperback – September 24, 2008

This is a great book and I really liked it but there are several typos throughout the book, nothing too bad though. Page 138 in the book which is the page in the appendix that has all the torque specifications is pretty much useless unless you take the time to rewrite the entire page because everything for some reason is out of order. Not too big of a deal because you should be using your service manual for those numbers anyway...it just would have been nice if it was readable and for quick reference. I just wish they had gone through the book to check for typos and errors before they put it out on the shelves. But overall great book that I would recommend to anyone with a B-series engine.

They must have a book for all b series motor owners. Chock full of information. A great bit of reading for all beginners and intermediate mechanics working on or owning a Honda b series motor.

Overall I found this extremely useful but was misled a little bit. The cover says "From engine removal to installation." It doesn't go in depth in the removal process like it does for the engine disassembly. The only thing the author says is to label all hoses and wires. Still helpful but for someone who hasn't removed an engine before may have trouble in the first steps of this. I like how easy it was to understand certain hard to explain parts, such as tensioning the timing belt. I'd rather spend this price than thousands for someone else to do what I can learn from this book.

I don’t hate it but I didn’t find it to be that helpful. I honestly think you could easily find all the information contained on the internet for free. If you don’t know anything about the B series and you don’t want to search the internet maybe it could be for you. But that’s not me and I was disappointed

Great book for reference that covers things that the car manuals do not. I knew this would be the case for my car but my B20A5 engine is barely covered by this book. Not a fault of the book, just not a common engine. Great series these books, don't pass them up if you are going to do engine work. A few $'s on a book is a lot less expensive than not knowing how to size barrings to your crank shaft!

This book is a must have if you're rebuilding any Honda engine in general. Even though it focuses on the B-Series, it has helpful info for rebuilding pretty much any engine. The photos are great, the procedures are easy to follow, and the suggestions definately come from an author that knows what he is talking about. I would highly recommend, as the author does, that you get the service manual for your specific vehicle too for torque specs., the engine removal procedure, as a cross reference, etc. I rebuild an F22B2 recently, with this book and the service manual as guides.

Great step by step guide. I’m sure some additional supplemental information from YouTube and other online sources will also help.

A good read, step by step and easy to follow, a good book to guide you through a home rebuild.
