With this bat house kit you can build your own bat house that rivals the design, capacity and quality our commercial production bat houses we sell to companies, corporations, farmers and government entities. This bat house kit is designed to meet all Bat Conservation International (BCI) certification requirements, and is BCI Certified once built and painted. Its unique tab and slot design makes assembly so easy a first grader can do it. The kit comes mitered, grooved and ready to assemble. Includes screws and complete instructions for assembly, color choice and placement guidelines. This is the same One Chamber Bat House we use in our bat house building workshops. Available roost volume = 220 cubic inches This one chamber kit can house an estimated 50 - 100 bats* (depending on species). Also available in a two and three chamber design with greater bat capacity. *We attempt to be honest with our estimates allowing approx. 3 cubic inches for each bat. This includes an allowance for unused space since the bats will not pack the house top to bottom. Some species will crowd in very tightly, others will not thus the true capacity will be a range not a specific number. Our volume measurement excludes the volume consumed by the internal baffles and all bat house capacities should be compared using volume, not a count of bats. Two and three chamber versions available

What a Great Kit!
What a great kit! Everything fit together perfectly and it only took my son about an hour with help from his grandpa. Best part might be all the info about bats and their habitats that's included. We all learned a lot and are looking forward to putting it up in the spring when the bast are back (we live in Minnesota). The videos online are also really cool. Nice to buy stuff from people who know their stuff. Thanks!

Easy Assembly
Bought it as a gift for a friend that loves bats. Easy assembly and followed instructions for caulking/painting it appropriately for our "zone". It was a fun project and my friend loves it. She is really excited to hang it (she already bought pheromones to attract bats) and I can't wait to report if it successfully houses her flying friends.

This kit exceeded our expectations. We got it for my husband to build with our granddaughter, and not only are the instructions fairly easy to follow, it comes together quickly. We added a copper 'roof' and painted it darkest green, so it looks great, too.

Good for bats; good for kids!
1. HFB provides great customer service - friendly, helpful with orders, they provide with clear instruction (printed and on-line videos) virtuully everything you need to know in order to get the bat houses built, painted, and hung. We prefer HFB's all wood construction with machined surfaces over the use of plastic mesh, which some manufactureres use to provide a surface for bats to grab onto as they climb within the bat box chambers. We used the one-chamber kits for a Halloween/Bat Week program and under the supervision of a couple of adult volunteers, had 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders assembling and painting the boxes over the course of three afternoons (one to build, one to primer, and one to paint).We use these boxes in a program that promotes the importance of bats to agriculture. Houses for the bats!
These are well made bat houses. Great design and BCI approved. And very cute with the cut out bat on the front of the house. They are very easy to assemble.
