Does what it is supposed to do and that's all I need.

Our house got broken into last year on Halloween while I was home. Someone came in through the back gate and was able to get the back door open. I worked nights and slept during the day and the dogs scared them as I think they thought nobody was home. I wanted something easy to install to keep our house safe and purchased multiple cameras, sensors, and alarms. This was perfect for me to set up and feel safer in our home. Then I realized I could have multiple purposes and it could help keep my dogs safe! We have the garage turned into a large room with furniture, dog beds, heaters, and air conditioners for the dogs while we are gone but always had a fear that the temperature would get too hot or too cold, or a fire would start while we were gone and unable to help the pups. I was able to purchase a temperature sensor to keep in there to notify me of the temp reached over or under a certain amount, and several fire sensors to put up throughout the house to get immediate help in case of a fire when we are not home. This has given me so much peace of mind and so many ways. I am so happy I have purchased this system!!

Seamlessly fit into my existing system.

While once in a while I'll hit a hiccup with it, overall the system is quite reliable and easy to use. My biggest complaint is that SOMETIMES it is hard to mount, typically tape not holding, and the latest version has a mounting plate on the smaller sensors that you can't really screw in to the wall. Larger devices, no issue. I use the doorbell camera - your door may make it hard to mount, but generally the camera works very well in place of a previous doorbell button (it charges an internal battery off the doorbell wiring). It is very important to this system to have good wifi where your base and sensors are. When you order the base, you may need to contact Simplisafe to make sure that the cell phone board inside will work in your neighborhood. They can and will send you an alternate board for a different service if you have a problem, but you do have to call tech support.I just added my 3rd temp sensor. One garage, meter closet (water pipes by outside wall), main hallway. Installation of this sensor bought separately from the system took only a few minutes - to activate, using the keypad, and to mount. Sensors that come with the base should already be activated.Overall, I like it a lot better than the pro system installed in a relative's house. I get to decide what sensors, have good remote access, and even with health issues can handle maintaining it.

Works perfect

I bought this because we had our HVAC die on us on the hottest day of the summer last year. Thankfully we got home from errands and noticed a few minutes before it actually died but it was 88 degrees in our house! Another hour or two and our kitties could have potentially gone into heat stroke.I tested this by checking that it matched my hallway AC system temp at 78. It didn’t really fluctuate at all (which is good), so I decided to test what would happen if I put in the windowsill in the afternoon sun. When it got 1 degree past my upper limit of 86, our base station went red and had beeping (lighter sound and less scary than when the entry is triggered), I also got a text alert that my hallway temp monitor had triggered. It only took about 15 mins in the window for it to go off.This gives me peace of mind in the summer so I can do outside the house stuff without worrying about my fluffy boys at home.I did not buy this for cold sensor so I can’t say anything about that, it’s the heat that I bought it for.

ZERO STARS!! Get another solution.SimpliSafe is all or nothing on this device. They WILL call you and everyone on your list at 3:30 AM. It is IMPOSSIBLE to configure so that you only get SMS or Push notifications. Supports answer was to lower the temperature threshold. I love this company and service but their treatment of this specific product makes it less than worthless.
