Are You Gonna Eat That?

Buried Treasure
I have been listening to this album for a few months and I can honestly say that it is fantastic and complex. The rhyme structure in some of the songs is so intricate that it takes 20+ listens to appreciate it fully. Sometimes HMM rhymes up to 6 or more syllables in multiple lines in a row. It's mind boggling and ahead of it's time. Years from now when rap has matured, Aesop Rock and Rob Sonic will be hailed as true masters. Right now they belong to the underground to be treasured by fans. The only problem with this album is that I can't decipher the meaning behind some of the songs. Usually I eventually piece together AR and RS's lyrics, with each uncovered metaphor a mini mind blowing reward, but this album seems almost nonsensical at times. That is why I gave the album 4 stars.Still I have to say that Aesop Rock is without an equal. Up to date, he is the best ever. Eventually he will be supplanted, but he is so far ahead of his peers that it may take a decade or more for a true challenge to materialize.Enjoy.

Boom Bonic Pleasure
Been following Aesop Rock's career since he started, though I'm as familiar with Rob Sonic...I have enjoyed his music when I'm hipped to it. This is by far the best music dropped by Aesop since Fast Cars Danger Fire and Knives, which was in my opinion not his best. Hail Mary Mallon is a hardcore work of linguistic acrobatics that I can't seem to get out of my earhole. With losers like Lil' Wayne, and the rest ruining the idea of hip hop it is good that guys like Hail Mary Mallon hold it down for us discriminating heads. I cant get enough of this album..you look full..."Are you gunna eat that?"

M-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-Meter Feeder!
This cd was bound to happen as Aesop and Rob Sonic sound great together on tracks. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I that I was a sleeper on this. Did an Itunes search for Ace and found out that I didn't have this morsel. Lo and behold this joint has been on heavy spins since I snatched it from my postal workers mailbag. He was none too happy. In fact, it was totally worth the two-to-the-back that I caught running back to my house to listen. The hospital stay was lovely as I bumped this cd in my Ipod

The album itself is fantastic, but the audio CD's case is really disappointing
The album itself is fantastic, but the audio CD's case is really disappointing. For $10 they couldn't afford an actual jewel case. Instead, the CD comes in what is essentially a folded up piece of cardboard, with a sleeve that the disc is inside of. The physical product made me sad, but it at least came with a sticker I guess. Either way, good album, ear happy yes
