I either read it somewhere or decided for myself the S2 steel is not good for an impact driver, but I see listings on Amazon promoting S2 steel as OK for impact drivers. In any case; the softer chromium/vanadium can deform, and/or round off the ends, and the harder S2 steel is more likely to chip crack break (I would assume especially when driving hardened screws). I am guessing that chromium vanadium is better for those large extra thick impact sockets (If it’s softer it should be thicker), but I would prefer S2 steal for an Allen key wrench’s that cannot be made thicker. **Q: I need a 1/2" square bit and my search skills are a little rusty these days. Do any of these sizes correspond to a 1/2"?** A: Largest square bit is "labeled" as a #4, which appears to be equivalent to 3/16" or 4 mm. You would have to find a set with larger bits to obtain an 1/2" size. **Q: Where was it made?** A: It is made in CH.
