Trius 92S Trap

Very good launcher especially when mounted on the tire. The bolt was too short for the rim I used. Not a big deal. The biggest problem is the way you cock the launcher. Wear a heavy work glove.

This is pretty easy to set up and use. Planning on mounting it to a custom plywood deck / cover for my lawn tractor wagon so I can easily move it around and haul clays, ammo and guns around easily.

We bought the Trius Original Trap to replace another almost identically designed thrower that self destructed after 15 years of occasional, yet intense use. We mounted the base to a log using three bolts so it is very secure.The design is very basic - it's a full-cock arm, so it takes a little muscle to cock it, but no one in our group had any problems (no girls here!). The little wire the keeps clays from sliding down the ramp works fine (though the one on our last thrower eventually unstuck and fell off). The rubber bumper against the edge does decent job of preventing broken birds, though we did get a few.Things I like:1. Solid construction.2. Simple, durable design.3. Tension adjusting wheel is large and easy to turn, and doesn't change on its own.4. Can stack clays, or lay them end to end (see Complaints though).My complaints with this trap are:1. To raise or lower the ramp, you must loosen and REMOVE the adjusting bolt, unlike our old one that only needed to be loosened. Instead of a slot, there are a series of holes for ramp position - dumb design2. Although the spring looks beefy, and there is a fair amount of pull needed to cock it, this thrower doesn't seem to have enough power to throw double clays far as we'd like, even with the tension cranked up all the way - our old one never had a problem.3. Some broken clays. Not exactly sure yet, since we've only used it three times, but seems to break more than the last thrower. It may be the clays themselves, which have been either the more fragile, Biodegradable clays, or ones that are a couple years old...the jury's still out on this one ;-).

This little clay-flinger is the bomb! I did a slight modification as I don't have anybody to load/fire it for me...so I put the spare-tire mounting bolt on sticking UP instead of down, and I drilled holes in my dive-weights and now I can simply stack them on the bolt giving it 28lbs of weight right where you'd be putting your foot to hold it in place when it flings. Then I put a long string on in place of the short one that comes with it for the 'pull' lever so I can set it off myself from any distance my string will reach (I currently have about a 20 yd string)...works GREAT! I can now have clays fly across in front of me making it harder (and more fun) to shoot! The quality of this unit is excellent, well worth any extra cost over the uber-cheap chinese units! I've gone thru a few boxes of clays already and not a hint of any problems. Well done Trius! About the only thing I could wish for is an autoloading feature, but that would cost a fortune... so I guess I can walk over and re-cock and load it myself. Dollar for dollar you can't beat this unit!

I previously owned a Trius Original Trap for many years that was past down to me by my father who also used it for many years, until the main spring broke at the range and at that time decided to purchase a new one. Of course I purchased the same Trius Original Trap from here. It shipped very quickly and was the lowest price I could locate.I go to the range quite often and every time it works flawlessly. Do not skimp out and buy one of those other cheaper throwers on here. The trius trap is the only one to buy. I have seen many of the cheaper throwers in action and it will cause you more headaches and broken clays then the fun you are supposed to be having,If you are in the market for a new thrower, dont look any further, make the purchase and dont look back.

I have owned Trius trap throwers for over 45 years. They are high quality, always work as expected, and seem to last forever. Other companies sell similar products for less money - but, they don't work as well and they don't last as long. If you enjoy shooting flying clay targets, Trius is the one and only thrower brand you should consider. At least, that is my humble opinion formed over many years of using this product.

Only used it a few times so I can't comment on it's durability but it seems sturdy enough.Very easy to cock, yet throws plenty far.The only drawback is that it's difficult to throw 2 at once.Overall I would give it a high grade and definitely worth the money.

Came on time and complete. Worked as advertised. Happy with the purchase.
