The World of Encyclopedia of Trees

My grandson loves the book and he is only 6 years old.

Very informative book. It's easy to understand about trees in the world.

I read the other review, "Bad Information" and looked up what that review was talking about in the book; I felt that the book should have an accurate review. Page 110 has nothing to do with those trees the review mentioned and they are actually on 2 different pages in the book. The book seems to live up to its title very well. I bought this for my girlfriend, a biology major, who is extremely interested in trees, and she loves this book.

I cannot recommend this book. It contains misinformation. As an example, the entry on Sorrel Tree (page 110) confuses two completely different trees, Umbellularia californica and Oxydendrum arboreum. Also, many of the range maps are drastically off. It has lovely illustrations, but if you can't trust the information, what good is it?

I bought this product to help in my work as a gardener, to identify trees in the gardens that I work in. I was disappointed with this book, I ordered it because it said it contained 800 photos, unfortunately the book contained mainly drawings of trees which I found very difficult to distinguish between one tree and another. As a general book on trees it was ok but not good for identifying unknown trees.

This is a very welcome addition to my books about trees. Informative, good illustrations, a pleasure to read.

I saw the encyclopaedia long time ago when I visited a friend of mine. Now I’m very happy that I have already have this bijou! It really helps for my tree drawings.
