A Genealogy of the Descendants of Joseph Bixby, 1621-1701 of Ipswich and Boxford, Massachusetts, Who Spell the Name Bixby, Bigsby, Byxbie, Paperback – March 28, 2010

This book is a great resource for information about the Bixby genealogy. As I was trying to trace my family tree through census, birth, and death records, my progress was impeded by one ancestor whose given name did not match any name in the list of his father's children. In addition to clearing this up for me, this book provided a lot of information about other members of the family. The organization of the book seems complicated at first, but once the reader understands the numbering system, it becomes easy to track direct ancestors.The background information and explanation of the numbering system is very useful.

The reprint of Willard G. Bixby's genealogical compilation of The Descendants of Joseph Bixby (1621-1701) of Ipswich and Boxford Massachusetts appears complete with as quality pictures as one could hope for. Although this book can be viewed in its entirety, in e-format, it is great to have it in print on my bookshelf. I wish it had an index, but the original did not have one either.

Excellent text for those researching the Bixby family. There are a few typos, but for the most part, this book contains a wealth of information. hcc
