New performance coating for propellers Unlike conventional antifouling paint which does not adhere well to underwater metal, or when it does, reduces performance, this unique, environmentally-friendly, two-part coating system bonds to your boat's propeller and running gear with no recoating needed for a year or more. Its "foul release" formulation reduces drag by preventing marine growth from attaching, resulting in fuel savings, and improved top end speed and performance. Easily applied by an experienced applicator, well versed "do-it-yourselfers" can also apply this coating by following the included application guide

RECENT PROP SPEED PROBLEM
I have been using PropSpeed for over 15 years. First found it at the London Boat Show in 2005, brought it back to the States and have never had a problem- until today. I buy a quarter kit and share it with two other sail boats. Been doing this for at least 10 years to reduce costs. As I was preparing to mix the etching material another boast owner approached me and told me he had difficulty with the product in that it set up too quickly. His description made no sense to me so I continued mixing. Mix the etching compound for about 15 mins - no clumping noted- texture was uniform and I then added the catalyst and mix for another few minutes. As I applied the compound to the shaft it became quite thick. I remixed and did the prop. The consistency became like mud but I was able to apply two coats. The product was drying rapidly and I applied the topcoat. It appears to be ok. I moved 20 feet to the next boat and the etching compound was like thick "silly putty" and unusable . Air temp 59f/15C, wind about 5 knots, humidity about 50%. The problem I experienced was exactly the same as described by the aforementioned boater. What's going on? We launch these boats next week and I am having serious reservations concerning my prop and am considering removing the product.
