Bagel Guillotine

Works very well. We slice our bagels when we purchase them then put them in the freezer for later use. Much easier and safer than using a knife. The Bagel Guillotine does a great job.

While I don't consider this a kitchen essential, it is definitely one of the "nice to have" items. Our family goes through quite a few bagels a week, and cutting them with the guillotine and then freezing them makes life a lot easier. My kids are older and can use a knife, but I prefer they use the guillotine so as not to risk life and limb! My only complaint is I wish the product were available in black to match my kitchen decor.

It is very easy to use and safe. Cut a large bagel with ease. If you follow the directions, I don't see how you could hurt yourself. The blade is contained in a sturdy sheath. This is a well made cutter.

Safe and works great. Best of all bagel slicers I've tried. Can accommodate larger bagels even if you have to smooth it in a little bit.

Cuts the bagel great - but in reality needs TWO hands. The blade needs great pressure to push it down, and to pull it up needs one hand to pull and one hand to steady the base. This is next to impossible for me.

It works if your bagel is rather firm and fits tightly in the base. The blade is not particularlysharp although pointed. I still tend to use a bread knife and take my chances with largerbagels instead of using this unit.

Love it! Well designed, the weight of it is good, and I no longer fear for my poor hand - too many bagel slicing injuries to note.
