Mind Your Manners

Fun and Informing
Based on the cover of the DVD I was reluctant to purchase it. I did not know exactly what to expect watching it for the first time today. It was a bit cheesy in the beginning and throughout certain parts of the DVD but then again...it is made for children ages 5-12. I am planning to show this to my students and teach each segment separately after we talk about it, model it and hopefully instill these good habits in their lives! As a bonus...I had also learned a few etiquette tips myself! It is well worth the few dollars I spent purchasing it from a private seller off Amazon.

A must for every parent or grandparent... kids love it!!!
This is such a clever program for having the insight to make learning manners FUN for kids. The gimmick of using the adults as the "bad examples" is quite funny and really hits home for the kids when they see the absurdity of bad behavior in a variety of settings. I showed this to four tough neighbor kids (all about 12-years old), and they loved it, all wanting their own copies! The next day, I saw two of them cleaning up a knocked-over trash can... which is a 180-degree change in prior behavior! Is Mind Your Manners to credit for turning rough kids into little angels? That's my theory! Check it out!

It gets the job done.
It is pretty cheesy (sorry to the kids in it) but it is this "cheesyness" that kept my four young boys watching. We watched this video two times and had good conversation. We had a massive improvement in manners instantly.Beats the pants off telling the kids each time they make a mistake. This lesson was simply more effective. Did I mention its cheesy?

A good funny video for kids and young teens
This is a good DVD for kids and young teens to learn about good manners in variety of social situation such as dinner time, on the phone, on the elevator, treating people with disabilities, handshakes, sleepovers and so on. My 13 year old son enjoyed watching it and sure learned a few things from it.

Good Points
A few silly parts but over all, I was very pleased. Ideal for ages 8 to 12. I learned some things, as an adult, that I didn't know. .

Bit cheesey, but the kids got a good laugh
This is a bit over the top, but my kids giggled during the whole thing. It does have some good lessons. At least the kids are entertained while learning some good social etiquette.
