Bzzzzzzzzz....solid, totally affordable, Bee-autiful mic in the coolest recyclable honeycomb box
Just got my brand new Neat Beecaster, and it’s a piece of honeycake. But let’s start with the really cool box it comes in. I’m not gonna lie - I wasn’t expecting such a fun funky box and this is somehow exciting to me. What can I tell you. It’s cool. The field guide is great too - very organized and efficient in explaining the different features. Perhaps they’ve overdone the bee theme, but who doesn’t need an extra eyeroll. Ha!The mic itself is a one stop shop. I mostly use a mic for professional voice over auditions from home, and will likely use this one for podcasts as well. I’ve been using a Blue Yeti for the past several years - it’s great, and I’ll use that one when I feel like standing and using the mic stand. The Neat Beecaster, however, will stay on the desktop, With its heavy-enough base and all sorts of useful adjustments. At first, it seemed hard to adjust, but it’s just tight so it doesn’t loosen out of whatever position you choose. It also has a convenient turn table on the base so you can turn the arm about 45 degrees, back and forth. What I like most about the base is how straightforward it is. Button one: Sonic Selector (mono/stereo/wide stereo/focused stereo). Button two: Mic Gain. Button three: Headphone volume. There is also a small Mute button. On the Yeti, there are images and it’s a little confusing for the average person. The Beecaster spells it out, quite literally. My only beef here is that the little black arrow (on silver) on the sonic selector is near impossible to see. At first I thought I was just supposed to guess which number I clicked on. The arrow sort of blends in with the reflections in the chrome ring on the base of the button. It’s not a big deal, but I’m inclined to put a little sticker on it or something. The mic comes with a basic pop filter that also protects the mic. Headphones go directly into the front of the base. The colors are fun - black and yellow - bumble bee style. And most importantly, it sounds great. It’s a pretty great value to get a solid, good quality mic for this price. The base has some weight, so it’s not exactly the mic you want for travel. But it’s a pretty perfect plug and go mic for voice overs and podcasts. I should probably mention the toy top thingy that comes in the fun funky box, but I haven’t figured out what that is yet. It might be some sort of cutting edge feature, but I’m pretty sure it’s just a fun top you can endlessly spin on your desktop while you’re waiting for your podcast to hit it big.

With This Microphone, You will Bee Happy
I'm just gonna start off by saying, I love this microphone! Everything about it is awesome, to me.The bee theme is pretty appealing, especially for a guy like me, who loves a good black and yellow color scheme. NEAT just might become my unofficial microphone brand, just for that. Not to mention, bee puns in a manual are always a yes for me.It is incredibly sturdy, with most of the microphone being made of metal with a few bits of plastic. The stand, built into the base, is heavy duty. That thing will not budge, without a bit of effort, which is a good thing as a flmisy stand could mean death for most microphones. In terms of the sound quality, the Beecaster sounds incredibly smooth. It is very easy on the ears, especially when you're like me and you jump from a $21 microphone to this. It produces incredibly clean audio, perhaps cleaner than a few of the more well-known brands.Clean sound isn't all this mic comes with. It also has a few knocks and knobs that are pre-built in the base (literally in the case of the knobs). The first knob on the left, is used to change the pattern of the microphone. Each one will have its uses, however if you're mainly doing voice over work (like mwah), then you'll probably be using the mono pattern the most. The second knob is used to adjust the microphones gain, which is incredibly helpful if you have to record loud or soft sound sources. You could change how loud or how quiet you want your recordings, which is just helpful in general. And finally the last knob is used to change how loud your real-time monitoring is. That's right, this microphone actually has real time monitoring, which can be accessed by just plugging your headphones into the base, and honestly this is one of my favorite features. It basically allows you to adjust things on the fly, without having to just randomly record first. It is very convinient, which is the main appeal of this microphone for me.The only thing I can really complain about though, is that the provided wind screen, is not the best for rejecting plosives. It helps, but every once in a while, you will hear a plosive slip through, and you'll have to deal with it however you deal with it.Now. For those of you who have skipped my mad ramblings, what can I say about the Beecaster? It is an incredibly clean sounding microphone, with various features that make it effective for both voice over and pod casting. I seriously recommend it for everyone who wants to jump right into the mic world, especially since it's only $100 right now.

EXCELLENT QUALITY & PERFORMANCE
I purchased this to use with my HP All-In-One during podcasting and online meetings because the built-in microphone in my computer was inconsistent, at best. Before the Beecaster, I had to speak directly into the front center of the computer in order to be heard. If I moved to one side or the other, people complained that they could not hear me. With the Beecaster, I can be in front of the computer, on either side, behind, or pretty much anywhere in the room and can be heard clearly every time. The build of the Beecaster is strong and solid and heavy enough that there's very little risk of it being damaged if it was accidentally knocked over. It's plug and play, so it couldn't be easier to install. On top of all of that, the packaging is so well-designed and protective that I still haven't thrown it away. If I ever want to take my Beecaster anywhere, I am definitely using the original packaging, it's that attractive. My only suggestion is that it should have an on-off switch. The way it is now, you have to unplug it from the USB port on the computer to turn it "off." Other than that, this is definitely worth every penny. It has made podcasting and online meetings a joy again, because I no longer have to repeat myself in order to be heard -- everyone can hear me clearly all of the time now. Thank you Beecaster! (P.S. This is NOT a paid review, I just needed to share how happy I am with the quality of this product.)

I couldn't.... bee .... more happy!
Love. This. Mic!Wanted to start a podcast, and so the quest began for a mic that would be enough for me now, but wouldn't be cheap and break down after a few months and be something I'd have to replace... or even worse, provide bad sound quality.Well I'm glad I chose this one because it's easy to use... the headphone port let's me listen while I'm recording, and adjust volume levels too.......plus I like the style of it! My listeners (all 4 of them ^.^) say it sounds great too, which if it can make my slightly goofy sounding voice sound good then it's got to be worth it.I've had 0 problems with it after almost 3 months of using it and am one happy podcaster!!

Excellent audio quality
If good audio is important to you, this is a great professional-grade but week-priced USB microphone for podcasting, music/vocals or in my case, for Zoom presentations. The fact that it has a pop filter and an in-built desk stand (the base is comfortingly heavy) also add value too.If you want to hear what it sounds like, check out my YouTube video, search for Headset Shootout.
