it's a fun, well-made intro guide - there are many other comprehensive titles for serious study
Dangerous Animals & Plants - A Folding Pocket Guide to North American Species: Great illustrations on ultra high quality plastic. It's a useful guide for those who spend time outdoors. As a Californian, I might encounter about 20 of the animals, but no crocodilians or dangerous chelonians. It's still fun to see them listed. I don't know much about plants except to note that the 2 most 'dangerous' West Coast plants are missing: Poison Oak (Toxicodendron pubescens) and the Poodle Dog Bush (Eriodictyon parryi). And there are no cactuses either. Who would dispute that a Jumping Cholla (Cylindropuntia fulgida) is dangerous? Recommended as an intro. Many other more comprehensive titles exist for serious study.

drawings for pictures
Has some good info in it only thing I do not like is the fact that the pictures are drawings very nice drawings but I would have preferred actual photos of certain things sometimes a drawing does not have as much detail as a photo and when dealing with dangerous plants I would want to risk being confused. I grew up in a suburb and unfortunately I did not get as much training about the outdoors as I would have liked so this is just my opinion, a photo would have been better for me. But over all the size and quality of the material it is printed on is great and fits perfectly in my backpack still very much worth getting because you never know.

Great for what I wanted
A great, super light weight and durable information packet. I'm a light "doomsday prepper" with mainly a bag and minimal resources to get me started, should I ever need to. This was perfect for my bag and I know if I ever need it, it will be in my bag and I'll be able to reference it with little effort. Very simplistic yet detailed and great for beginners like myself.

Great Starting Point
The images are clear and it's written in everyday English. I gave it 4 stars because it isn't detailed enough.

Dangerous Animals & Plants
Waterproof booklet folds out and has 11 pages. Shows colored drawings and brief details about poisonous or dangerous plants, mushrooms, near shore creatures, fish, sharks, flying insects, ants, ticks, leeches, scorpions, spiders, venomous snakes, reptiles, birds, mammals. Not by any means as detailed as a book but much more compact and lightweight. Perfect for a backpack.

itchy plants
we got them for our family because my husband always seems to find the "itchy plant" out on the mississippi when hunting ducks..so he wants them to all know what they look like..i like the fact that the guide is plastic covered and folds so nice and flat..tx

older version
The seller is showing the 2012 edition, however, I was sent the 2010 edition. I probably wouldn't have noticed except that this was going into bag for employees and it's obvious they are different editions.

Great quick guide for American animals
Great quick reference guide for getting to know dangerous animals etc! I am from the UK and recently moved to California, so did not have a clue about the wildlife I would be likely to encounter, so this is great to refer to.

Mistakes are inexcusable in a document of this kind
A short summary of potentially hazardous species is a good idea but please do a little research before producing these things. Repeating ridiculous old wives tales such as mute swans can break your arms or legs is pathetic. And barracuda flesh is poisonous -better not tell all those seafood restaurants. And the death angel colours look dodgy to me too.....please do better.
