This is a wonderful book with simple instructions, beautiful photos and helpful information. Unfortunately it is not what I was looking for as a newcomer to the craft. The number of ingredients that would be needed for just one recipe is on average a dozen or more. I counted about 130 ingredients listed to be used in nearly 40 different products. This will be an enjoyable book to reference over the next few years, but I had to order a separate book to help me with getting started with my new lotion and soap making hobby.

i disliked that i was not able to make any of these recipes because i had none of the ingredients!she also was using so maney parebens

Recipes are a little complicated for you average person learning about making homemade beauty products.

This book is poorly written and doesn’t really explain why they formulated the products the way they did. No explanation of the benefits to the skin, either. There are terrible ingredients and parabens in all recipes. I’ll never make any of these.

If you already have lots of experience making beauty products and have several thousands of dollars to spend on buying the MANY and diverse, expensive ingredients required for each recipe AND want to add parabens and chemicals to your products then you may enjoy this book. The average recipe has 16 ingredients.The author is a German naturopath so I was surprised she listed things like Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and other such items in her raw materials list of ingredients. Also many pre-made trademarked formulations are needed to make these concoctions.I was very disappointed.
