Rooted in utopian ideals of social and industrial reform, the Arts and Crafts movement spread from its beginnings in the 19th century Britain to places as far as Japan and the Pacific Rim. Practitioners of the movement were united by aims of returning to a simpler life and bringing art and good design to everyday objects. These cards showcase masterworks of the period - and are printed on fine paper using letterpress printing presses that were running when the Arts and Crafts movement was still young.
