I bought this for the wife to use with her coffee maker. Now, I know what you're saying..."Buy a programmable model!"Here's our reasoning: We get up at various times and never set an alarm. The programmable model would need us to set a time for it to start so we'd need to set it early so it'd be ready if we get up early and then we'd have 3-5hr old coffee if we get up late.This is the perfect solution! Set up the coffee the night before with the coffee maker in the 'On' position but the wireless switch in the 'Off' position. When we get up in the morning we simply click the button to turn on the wireless switch and our coffee starts when we get up! We use it from the bedroom and the coffee maker is in the kitchen, so about 20 feet through one door and one wall.

Love these remotes, have several. I use one for my fan in the bedroom and it saves me having to get up to shut the fan off in the middle of the night. Got one with three switches for my almost blind mother and she can put on lights before she gets up and walks around at night or early morning. My only problem is that the remote is hard to open to put in or replace the battery, the case slides open, but with my arthritis I couldn't get it to do that. I finally got a small a screw driver and was able to put it in the crease and push it off that way.

I bought this to control some cable lighting I installed above some tall cabinets as offset lighting. At install, the controller was finicky about where to point it to make it work. But a couple days later when I tried to get the lights on, I had to hold it a foot away from the outlet to make it work--sometimes. I bought a name brand one at the local hardware store for $2 more and it works perfectly from virtually anywhere in my house. This one is not well made and not reliable; I won't be buying anything this brand again ever.

I ordered this item to cheaply turn a generic space heater into a remote-controlled space heater. The package included the outlet unit and a remote control. The output unit is identical to the picture, but the remote is definitely different. The remote seems to be pretty shoddy; it only works occasionally. When it stops working, I need to fiddle with the battery to get it working again. At first I thought that I was missing instructions for syncing the remote with the outlet, but it turns out it just wasn't working! Overall I'm pretty disappointed.EDIT: Within a couple of months, I worked out a way to get the remote working more consistently. However, the on/off feature in the outlet stopped working. I can still hear it clicking when I send a signal from the remote, but the power does not turn on/off. So now it's useless. Still disappointed.

The actual unit received did not have the new "sleek" remote control in the package but the same 9 volt unit the rest of the units advertised. Because of where I was going to place the remote control I was a little disappointed. However, the unit functions as advertised with not one miss of a button push so far!Amazon made it "great!" by refunding my payment in this case without requesting returning the unit. They explained that sometimes the demand uses up the original pictured item and they do substitute an exact functional replacement although cosmetically it may be different then pictured.

I wired an extra bedroom ceiling recessed light down line from a ceiling fan circuit. Oops! Now, I could not use the ceiling fan at night without the light on!Solution: a Super Switch Wireless Remote switch (the remote kept bedside)to turn the light on and off separately from the fan. The receiving unit is in the floor of the ceiling box. (I modified the receiving unit to bypass the plug format and hardwired it.) The fan has its own pull-string switches down line from a wall switch. It works wonderfully. It works wonderfully.Glitches: The battery that came with the unit was sealed so tightly one could actually miss the wrapping and insert it! When I removed the 9 volt transistor battery and inserted it, the unit did not work due a totally dead battery (convenient tongue test). Follow instructions for use of the device.

This product works as described. I have it for the big fan in an upstairs window that can draw air in or blow it out - and cool the whole house. If I want to turn it off in the evening, I no longer have to climb the stairs. Or I can turn it off at night without getting up. (I don't trust it to turn the fan on, however. My old fan sometimes didn't start up well on a low setting, and I burned it out by turning it on remotely and it never fully came on.) One silly point: at first, I thought this wasn't working. I decided it must be the battery in the remote, so I bought a new 2-pack of 9v batteries. When I got the "old" battery out, I discovered it was in a tight plastic shell! It actually works perfectly.

It's design covered up the entire wall outlet, I disliked the white color of the plastic, and the instructions left me floundering.After research, I bought a 3' green extension cad with more plugs. The trick was to make sure that the cord and the Super Switch had matched capacity. I didn't want any electric fires sometime in the future.Once I worked all that out, it is just fine!I had bought two of them, to use one as a gift, so it was good to have it all together, and done right. Now we can live happily ever after.
